Did you promise you'd not be in Scotland at the time or does he think that this being the latest date in the year for snowfall past Brush since 1928 is coincidence

Great job Dave, chapeau :-bd

I've long held the theory that anyone with a lock-up is likely to be a wrong 'un. All I've got in there is some junk, oh and a pocket watch I picked up at a house clearance, this time next year we'll be millionaires  Lock-up is doing it a bit of an injustice, because of my attention to ...

Josh Kato is at Del Norte hospital  Edit, this is what he had to say I don’t normally log into Facebook while racing my ultras. However, this Divide is turning more into a survival march for me. Last night I awoke vomiting, shaking and coughing uncontrollably. I was able to point my bike to D...

If ever I need to make up the value of an order I buy consumables or spares I'll know I use

Brake pads
Chain
Chain lube
Nutrition stuff
Wheel bearings

Boring I know but it does all get used up and I prefer to have stock in the shed ready.

Re: Tour Divide 2019

Isn't Lael racing at the Silk Road Mountain Race? That starts on Aug 17th so if her hopes for the TD are now out of reach it makes sense to scratch from racing to save herself for that? But if she's riding the route anyway and she's well ahead of 'touring' pace she could have kept going and got anot...

That's quite nifty that :-bd It's got me thinking, perhaps instead of a fold up rucksack I should have made some shoulder straps for my own bumbag (Lowe Alpine Messa) but with clips to attach the dry bag on the back when extra space is required for food? I was just thinking the same, I would find it hard to get going physically and mentally after a long break like that, my mind and body would have switched off and be in recovery mode. I see Dave B is at mile 1303. The Lodge is at 1512 so Dave will be joining them in 2 days time? Just spotted this on Facebook Word from Brush Mountain Lodge is that 7-8 of the riders there are dropping out. 3-4 are headed out to give the pass a try tonight at 3 AM. They have made bike carrying straps from bike tubes, which they can use if the mud gets too bad. They are sticking together as a g...

Re: Tour Divide 2019

I've seen a picture of Lael's bike at Brush Mountain Lodge and she's got a CCF mat strapped to her seatpack, I'm assuming she's bought it on the way, perhaps the no mat gear choice was a step to far given the weather.

It's snowing at the lodge now as well.

Is your existing crank a sram gxp? If so don't forget you'll need the adapters as well.

I use a Hope BB (and adapters) with my XO cranks and it works well. SRAM only seem to make 2 BB's, one is dirt cheap (£25) and the bottom spec and the other is the Black Box one, top spec at £140.

Re: Anyone used Deore levers on Zee calipers?

My Hope Race Evo use the same master cylinder wherever they are the 2 piston X2 or the 4 piston E4.

It's the effective extra piston area that gives the greater breaking power for the same force at the lever (how hard you pull it) but the trade off is more lever travel.
