Re: Technique for Packing a Handlebar Roll
My double ended bag is not even as my winter sleeping r bag is too big so gets stuffed at one end and the rest goes in ( being soft and not fully compressed. This side will then squash when I pull the harness straps) It's more important the weight is even than it looks even You could take the cape o...

Out of interest do people go I wont stick to the speed limit as x has a faster car, drives more dangerously and is not slowing down? I use the disabled parking at supermarkets as everyone else does? Do we drop litter in the countryside, make fires and leave a trace as plenty of other do so our effor...

Re: Trailmech hubs
A more expensive hub will have better freehub bearings seals and we could all ride on single buted spokes etc. Granted I wont be buying king hubs or paying £500 for a carbon rim to save 50 grams but generally more expensive kit is a higher quality ( law of dimishing returns) Even the cheapest of hub...

Apparently she offsets it ( read bizarrely in An a article about her suing someone who lists her jet movements. Iirc it said she does the same with her tours ( debates about the ethics and usefulness of offsetting aside) Point is we all can find people better than us or worse than us. Neither is a r...

Yet more rationalisation about why you don't personally have to change . We all have to change and I would no more base my behaviour on them( egotistical avaricious soulless types) than I would base it on Trump. I don't know why you think bezos or musk lecture on this ( I don't really follow either ...

you need to back wind energy up with gas powered stations which can be switched on quickly if the wind drops during peak demand. I always thought use themntonpumpnwatwet up to a pressie and the use water for on demand hydro. Having lived off grid and with a turbine the issue is both not constant ou...

No I got that, it's just daft cycle hating to say it's not green(er than car use)
The environment will be our generations slavery. Future generations ( we won't wipe us all out but lots of people live near the coast and are in big trouble.) will wonder, rightly, why we did it.

FFS we all exhale CO2 so no animal is neutral BUT a bike is clearly way better than a car ( even at just a single production cost analysis never mind per mile used once maderead a criticism of cycling once, saying it wasn't green because we all eat more food so we have more impact

We only have one planet, and it's definetly finite, and everyone can create an excuse/ reason/ justification for their choices. Basically we have to change how we live* or we seriously damage our home, all of us can justify why we don't do anything/ enough/ go all in.( Even this non flying vegan who...

I am glad he was kinder to me than you were to him ( hate water crossings in summer never mind winter)
Next week for me ( just swapped out the commuting wheels for my proper road ones) weather looks like standard winter bit damp but not horrible.

32 x 51 mtb ( 29+) 34 x 46 cross ( loaded) Also depends if multiday or one day. If one day 'happy' to red line at walking pace multi day I am off and walking to conserve energy. Its all personal if you want lower get them as we are not all equally strong or indeed enjoy low cadence torque spinning (...

Make sure you know the actual length required and thread pitch or it won't work. The dt Swiss are good but their only real advantage over another is the Allen key is attached ( which comes at a weight and price cost) but is very convenient and easy to use. ( end " handle" can be pulled up ...
