Re: Bivvy a Month 2021

loitering Ohh don't set me off. Loitering. A fabulous pastime. Closely related to idling. "Loitering is the act of remaining in a particular public place for a protracted time, without any apparent purpose. While the laws regarding loitering have been challenged and changed over time, loiterin...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021

Bivvying in the toilet being lulled to sleep by Stephen's fruity tones would have been quite high on my list I think.

Re: With the demise of The Star...

I see on their Tariffs page they offer an "electric optional gravel touring pitch". Graveltouring? Pah, it'll never catch on  .

PS> Shortening "electricity" to "electric" seems quite common these days. Maybe it's cheaper.

I'm sure if you asked them they'd send yours via rat and wrapped in newspaper Reg   As Bo says, they really ought to be gold-plated at the price  . Maybe I just need to think of a way of upcycling them - I know, padded sliced-bread holder for Tim's toast! Get three or four slices ...

Have to say that I'd prefer Exposure weren't so OTT with their packaging. My Joysticks have come in those same fancy zipped boxes. Cardboard's perfectly OK.

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021

On the way, it struck me that one of my favouritist bits about bivvying is that morning ride. I'm not normally a morning person but it feels different after having been out all night. Yah, similar here. Really not a morning person at all. Given the choice I'd wake up at 7 and lie in bed for an hour...

(Was one up the road. Probably haven't had a toilet since it fell apart in my hands five years ago. Still, the insane price they charged me for the 'facilities' (none) would've bought a complete replacement)

Re: Toast

TBH it would make your life a LOT easier if, instead of packing your house's contents into your bikepacking bags and went riding outdoors, you did the opposite - took your bike indoors and rode it round all the rooms. If you needed to use a specific piece of kit you'd ride to the room that contained...

Re: Big Shakeout Routes?

Andy's is a nice extension to my second one (which is quite short - an evening maybe). But there's a couple of sections on that which are rather better done in a particular direction IMHO. Maybe give it a try and see if you agree or not  . It'll be a superb ride whichever you do!

All could be done in half a day, but there's loads of tea shops n pubs n caffs n views, so I'd be making a day of it! Thornbridge - road...

An overload of photographics vistas there, very enjoyable. Like that shed at Glenuaig, cosy. Never seen so many padlocks on one gate - ridiculous. Quite a coincidence meeting Mike too - maybe he was stalking you (a popular pastime in the area I believe) .
