Re: Map reading.....info

....people want everything given to them on a plate these days. They want their routes given to them as a download onto a gadget.... I often get asked for the GPX for a particular route I've ridden. Some peeps are either incapable or too lazy to study a map/the web for ideas on where to ride. Im pr...

Re: Map reading.....info

TBH I'm signed up for the event next week and despite having the GR's I don't feel part of the vibe as like I said above, I don't know how to use a Garmin. Yes I've plotted on a map but when everyone else is using devices my thinking is that I'll look too old skool getting a map out. So instead of f...

Re: Map reading.....info

I know this is a tad different but how many of you when driving rely on a GPS/phobe to get to your destination? Remember the days when the passenger would have an atlas on their lap, and the arguments that would follow!

For me, its been today after finding out a local lad who drank in my local took his own life last night. Something to do with not seeing his kid. Just a waste. So sad knowing his kid will end up being affected for his entire life.

And I've got a pass to use so would love to give Morocco a go, or maybe a return to Iceland.
I'm still planning...

Re: Hidden Wales BBC4

Watched it last night thanks to the heads up by John Climber. Even though its my 'back garden' i learnt some new things. I've biked at Cwmorthin quite a bit and what they showed on the show of the ruins at the surface is nothing compared to what's further up the hillside. Bloody shame that big house...

There's a bit of snow and ice up there after today's weather. 'The lake with the sword in it' is Llyn Padarn which is the one at Llanberis, There's plenty of spots to wild camp on the mountain and the boardwalk on the west side of the cafe is a good spot for a bivvy but it'll be baltic atm.
