Scottish Bothy Bible book now out
A friend of mine (ok, I met him once at a party) has written an excellent guide to all Scotland's bothies. Most of them he reached by bike. Re: Sleeping bag recommendations please
Ok thanks for that. I did do a search on here for 'sleeping bag' before I posted, but it wouldn't show me the answers as it said it threw up too many results.

Re: Baja Divide, Mexico
The stove is a Honey Stove Ti , which works well in a place with lots of dry wood, and packs flat. They do a cheaper steel version also. Oh god, that thing is amazing! Not only a wood stove and bbq but it takes the trangia burner or 8g ultralight meths stove too. I want one! Only question is which ...

Re: 1000 miles in France
When I looked at this post on my phone this morning, the photos were all chopped in half. What should I have done to stop that from happening?

Re: Sleeping bag recommendations please
I am also on the cold side [Reynaulds doesnt help] so I use liners, fresh dry clothes to sleep in and even double up bags at times. I have seen Alpkit have launched a range of synthetic bags which I may look into if I ever feel the urge to go out in wetter conditions [ok, unlikely for this princess...

Wow, that looks amazing. What is that stove/campfire thingy you were using? Is this going to be an annual thing? I want to do it!

Re: 1000 miles in France
Thanks guys. Top work :-bd Good to hear about people just getting out there. I'm sure forming memories that will last forever and planning on making more. I think that was the most important lesson that I learned on the trip. Before we started I had no idea if we could do it, but I thought we would ...

Sleeping bag recommendations please
Hi there, I am new to bikepacking and looking to downsize our cycle-touring kit for more lightweight and compact gear. I am a bit bewildered by the number of sleeping bag options out there and wondered if anyone had any recommendations. My son and I are both on the small side, and I sleep very cold ...

Re: 1000 miles in France
What have you and Joe got planned next? I think this summer we will 'turn left' and head across Holland to Germany to visit friends in Bremerhaven. After that I fancy turning north to have a look at Denmark or we might go south along the Elbe to Prague instead. In the meantime I want to do some bik...

I guess I was trying not to put him off as I would love to turn him into a fully-paid-up cyclist if I can. It sounds like you have a wee convert there already...

1000 miles in France
Hi all, I am new here and also new to bikepacking. Last summer my son and I completed the 'Velodyssey' route across France to the Spanish border in cycle touring mode. For those of you not familiar with the route it is a flattish, off-road path from Roscoff (channel port in the north) to the Spanish...

WTD: Bob Coz trailer
Hi there, I am looking to buy a Bob Coz trailer to replace one that was stolen from me a couple of weeks ago. I had bought it for a big bike tour with my son that we have planned for August. We are going to attempt Velodyssey from Roscoff to Bilbao. For allsorts of reasons the Bob Coz was absolutely...
