Re: Bearstock the party - what do you want?
Scattamah/burty sounds like a plan. I was thinking maybe to leave Friday night grab a beer and food in Habberley and bivvy up on Stiperstones before pootling over to Stu's then go to Mach on Sunday to catch the train back. And scattamah are you the one doing the high sports local spot on the tour di...

Cycle 2 charge query
Just to check, it shouldn't be drawing a charge when connected to the hub but nothings plugged in should it? It's just the light output from my revo is much lower with the unit plugged in than not and it makes me think there might be an issue with mine. Without I can light all four lights on the rol...

Re: Bearstock the party - what do you want?
I was looking at riding in from Shrewsbury and I think I've got a reasonable route there with a reasonable mix of back roads and offroad. It's just it's quite a pull back on Sunday if I've availed myself of the free beer on Saturday night. hmm.

I'd be in assuming I'm free, flat ground, beer, meat and bogs would be fine.

Re: OMM Bike events
Not done one since they were Polaris'. I liked them and the cost was offset largely by the prizes for winning category, I'm definitely up on the balance. But I thought the summer event format was much weaker and the fact you car camped made it much less sociable. I'll cherish the memory of one rainy...

Some rather lovely carbon pegs and a 1M carbon pole from deepest darkest Wales. Just arrived.
If the postman could just deliver a cure for this virus I've got I could have a go at using some of the stuff.

An ardent from next day tyres thanks to the PSA thread, Jones loop bars thanks to macskive and 2 pairs of RAF goretex overtrousers which I need to cut down into 3/4s.
Unfortunately Mrs hoppy was at home ill today so I'm getting some grief and that's before everything else arrives.

Re: What bikepacking gear have you just ordered/bought?
That bloke in Wales is sending me a carbon pole and pegs soon too. I'm waiting on a set of loops which should be here soon, I've also raided the sales for an ardent 2.4 for the stooge, electronic bits and bobs to set up a switch for the dynamo system. And I'm trying to decide between lightweight biv...

Re: Half a bag better than none?
No disrespect to OMM but I find some of their products are aimed a bit to specifically at the MM crowd, (who's aim is to get through a kit check and survive a single night) to make them properly useable by anyone else. Given that the company grew out of the remains of the KIMM line when sports dire...

Re: West Shrops/Mid Wales bivvy
My timings are looking dubious this weekend, the event isn't starting til 8pm so I'm guessing I'm going to be aiming to roll out of Shrewsbury around 5 to get to nipstone for the start then head back up onto the Stiperstones to get pitched around midnight once it's done.

Re: West Shrops/Mid Wales bivvy
Ooh, I might be up for this weekend. I'm possibly helping at a star gazing event at nipstone on Saturday night and was thinking of biking home to Shrewsbury over the Stiperstones via a bivvy.

Thanks to all for a great weekend, especially Taylor for the organisation. Even managed to catch the vulcanised display over Welshpool on the way home.
