Re: BBFF Day 1 Route
Day 2's route. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/6700444 I don't mind the climbing too much, I live on the South Downs so hopefully it won't seem much worse than a normal ride round here, fingers crossed. I take you point about the bridle ways, I've plotted most of the route using sat photos as well, bu...

BBFF Day 1 Route
Hello, Not being a local, I'm relying on OS maps and aerial photos for plotting, so any thoughts on the day 1 outbound leg would be welcomed. I've tried to keep some road in but I want to try and re-do the route to the first waypoint to avoid the double back. I was thinking about the overnight stop ...

FF Mobile Coverage
Is there much coverage in the area, I've checked three and vodafone and it looks pretty patchy? Are Sat phones/Spots recommended?

Re: Ford Fiesta GR sent.
yep lots of fords, now they are all in the correct route order.
On the west side of the Carno Wind farm, SN 904952 seems to be 102m from SN 904953, is that correct or could it be a typo?

Quilt Suggestions
Hello, I want to get a quilt in time for the Ford Fiesta as I hate being trapped in sleeping bags. I tend find I thrash about too much and I always get too hot. Can anybody suggest a quilt that is lightweight and packs down well, but doesn't break the bank too much? This one seems to be the best I h...

I'm about on Tuesday and could join you for the Eastbourne to Shoreham/Washington section. I was up on it today round Worthing/Shoreham and it was great with the frost. Got a bit mushy after it had melted, but it's ok at the moment.

Not too bad for £6.75's worth of materials and half an hour of my time. A massive thank you to Ray Young for the idea.

It's actually not too muddy at the moment, at least the middle third.

Re: High Cal, low weight food
It is mainly for overnight trips and two to three day ones like the winter event etc. I head thought about peanut butter and pies, but if possible a hot meal was the preferred option. I have a biolight stove so I can cook proper food, but the freeze dried meals are a lot less hassle, just add hot wa...

Ta wrench, it does look interesting but the Mountain House looks to be slightly more cals for its weight unless I have got my units wrong.

Re: High Cal, low weight food
I've had one of the wayfarer meals the other day as a test and it was very nice. I'm after the least hassle prep wise, high cals and an ok taste, as I don't want to take pots and I'm happy to pay a price premium if they are any good. I've ordered some of the Mountan House meals to try and will order...

Winter event Water Avaliabilty
Hello,
Can you guys suggest how much water I should carry on the winter event?
Also, Is water easy to come by in the area, I do have an Aquapure traveller so I can collect untreated water for topping up my bottles and hydrapacks.
Many thanks

Re: High Cal, low weight food
Thanks Joe, I ad seen the, but was hoping for a lighter/higher cal brand. You also have to cook them in water. So far the best I have found seems to be the Miuntain House brand (http://www.mountainhouse.eu/main-meals/pouches-serves-1-3) which has most of the range at over 500kcal per 100g. The Potat...

High Cal, low weight food
Can anybody recommend any brands/pre-packed foods that offer more than the 250-300cal per 100g and can be made by just adding hot water. I don't want to carry a pan, just a cookng mug if possible.
Thanks

Winter event left luggage
Hello,
Is there anywhere to leave luggage at the Winter Event? I was thinking of coming up a day or two before and as such will have luggage that I won't want to take with me on the event.
Thanks

Re: Winter event gpx file
I've already got the local is maps but was after an idea of an actual route though. I live in the South Coast so I normally ride some of the sdw each week and the other local hills in between, when I am not on a road bike.
Hopefully my fitness levels are ok, what is a typical distance?

Hello All, I have entered the Winter Event and I am starting to set up my bike for it, It's a 2012 Trek Fuel Ex8. I have a few upgrades on it including a K&S dropper post and a 30mm Renthal Fatbar Lite. In terms of luggage, I am going to make a frame bag to fit it, carry a small backpack. As a r...
