Re: Inspired to Ride Trailer
I think the trouble with both previous films has been the amount of 'Americanism'. I know it's a different culture but I find it hard to swallow and even harder to take seriously (people being deadly serious, deep and introspective is actually funny) but hopefully ITR will present a wider spectrum o...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
NeedleSports have ID Silshelters for £50 which is around half price. http://www.needlesports.com/Catalogue/Camping-Equipment/Bivi/Bivi-Tents/Silshelter#.VRW3kzusUrM Ignore what ID say about setting it up with one pole ... it will, but two poles transform the thing. If you're interested there's a rev...

Looking forward to seeing it but I'm hoping my expectations don't get the better of me. I had high hopes for Reveal the path but couldn't even watch the entire film.

Re: Todays ride
Todays ride had me down paths I'd not travelled in Shrewsbury...if it was a red line on the map, I'd try it. Interesting to find where they went, often popping out meters away from somewhere I regularly travel. A sniff under 20Kms of exploration within the town limits/Bayston Hill area. I love ride...

The Cumulus quilts aren't the widest available but even so, draughts aren't really much of a problem. If you were really concerned, strapping it to your mat should rule out the possibility.

Re: The Smoke Ring - loop round London
If the book's similar to the north south divide one, then you'll need to spend a while plotting the route either on paper or on screen to generate a gpx file. The route instructions in the book are very much TL onto BW @ 987643, SA onto MR @ 459900, etc, etc.

Re: Long Shot - Adult Trikes?
I reckon this should do the trick Ray. Obviously it's BB mount so there shouldn't be any issues with getting it inline with the chain. I made the plate from 3mm stainless (the standard ones are generally bendy rubbish), I added extra mounting holes for the idler too, so it's fully adjustable. If you...

Let me have a rummage in the cellar Ray, I'll have something. I wonder whether a BB mounted tensioner might be the way forward.

Just to throw something different into the mix, I'm quite tempted by this: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fi ... r-all-cycl I saw that and I thought ... wouldn't this contour to the shape / confines of a jersey pocket much better? http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41arQjOPUjL._SY300_.jpg

Re: Cooking windsheilds
This is very timely Stu, was going to enquire about a cone for a 22g stove and RutaLocura 450 tipot (think its same size as old appkit myticup). How much for something of the "bench" It should work okay but the 450 cup is really a bit small for the 22g stove but I'll come up with somethin...

I believe there is a Caldera cone alternative that is just about* to be released from BB towers. :-bd *project delays happen  They do indeed  Windshields, although mind numbingly dull are actually quite complicated - see here: http://bearbonesbikepacking.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/the-troub...

Does anyone have good ways of getting bottles on fork legs? I'm riding rigid. Tried monkee cages which didn't work too well. The bracket stated on but the cage and bottle escaped! There's a bigger one now - the gorilla? - anyone used that? Does it allow access to bottles whilst riding? Ian was that...

Re: Wheel change and spokes are touching the caliper..
I'd space the disc, I think Hope make a specific disc spacer.
OR
How about a bigger diameter disc? That should hopefully move the caliper further away from the spokes.

Re: Bivvy a month 2015
Do the handles really stay cool on Ti mugs? No, not really but they cool down within a few seconds. Also is that a home made 'cone' and is the mug resting against the far side of it to stop it dropping? It's a tapered windshield rather than a 'cone' and the mug's sat on top of the stove. In the pic...
