Re: Green commute initiative

I've done it three times and each time it was limited to £1k. But as Whitestone says it might vary depending on the size, budget and FSA connections of the employer.

Great write up, Sean. I hadn't realised what you had on your mind when we were chatting at the start line. Glad to hear she's got the all clear. I've enjoyed relating to the words of fellow scratchers. I've not scratched before so it's a new experience for me. Trying to get my head around it. Thinki...

Wanted: Non-boost carbon 29er fork

Looking for thru axle carbon fork with tapered steerer, for example:
* Travers Prong
* Enve MTB fork
* Kinesis Maxlight
* Niner RDO

Non-boost 100mm would be preferred, but I could also use boost 110mm and add the 10mm adaptors for Hope Pro 4 front hub

Re: Highland Trail 2019

Any tips on the best crossing point if water levels are up? Stay directly on the route on your GPS, that's the best crossing point. It's quite scary because it's very wide and the riverbed drops steeply from the bank but once you're in about 2-3metres from the edge, that's as deep as it gets and th...

Nice one, Whitestone. Gives a really good idea of the conditions leading up to the HT550. Will be interested to see the route change around Wolftrax.

Re: Big Bear group start next year?

Any of the first three weekends in April would suit me, including bank holiday weekend. I am flexible on start point, but would prefer starting somewhere on East side of the route.

+1 what Mr Large and Karl said above! April is also fine for me!

But I guess that's a bit short notice to organise?

Re: Help! Testing Dynamo output

I read something this morning written by Kerry saying that he spent ages developing the K Lite only for it to be copied by Exposure and when the Revo came out everyone wanted 1 because they'd never heard of k-lite despite it being better. The power of marketing was mentioned! Needless to say he was...

Re: Help! Testing Dynamo output

I spoke to Kerry before buying the klite when I was having problems with my revo (being too dim at low speeds) I recall he designed both and only wanted 3 'bulbs' in the Revo, exposure insisted in 4 which it doesn't have the power to property supply at low speeds. He described the Revo as a road li...

Re: 'Int tubeless brilliant!

Tubeless is great however currently fighting some gravelkings. Not impressed with WTB TCS tape, I've got sealant leaking out of the valve holes. :???: That sucks. It's Gorilla tape every time for me now. +1 for Gorilla tape. It's not the lightest, but it's cheap and just works (so long as rims are ...

Re: Ruined Guts... How Long?

So I've now had diarrhoea for the last 6 days (can only be BB300 related), and I'm wondering... shouldn't it have cleared up by now? I've also tried three full courses of immodium / varieties of which have had precisely zero effect. So I'm guessing whatever it is I have isn't just your garden varie...

Re: Help! Testing Dynamo output

Guys how do I check my dynamo output. I have a new Love Mud Juice boost hub 6v 3W and whilst it does power my light it's not as bright as I expected and my phone won't charge off my sinewave revolution even though it says it's charging. They are switched so run independently. When I stick the volt ...

Re: 'Int tubeless brilliant!

Not many punctures going on where I live, but I do think of it from time to time for when I'm back in the lands of flailed hedges and the like. In the absence of a tubeless set up are the inner tubes with sealant worth using? I'm never racing so not so worried about and additional weight. My guess ...

Re: 'Int tubeless brilliant!

Been running tubeless with Stans for a few years and I can’t imagine going back to tubes. I’ve used a lot of worms for repairing larger holes and being a cheapskate I’ve been wondering about creating my own with old inner tubes. Has anyone tried this DIY method? Elapsed time: 17:02 Moving time: 15:04 (according to Strava) Source: Garmin Edge 800 I don’t use auto-pause, so the moving time calculation would be down to Strava to figure out, as I uploaded directly from the GPX track. For ITT efforts, I am primarily focused on average speed over elapsed time and...
