Re: Trousers for wearing post cycling on bikepacking

If you have a look through the 'bargain rails' of one of the outdoor stores, they usually have plenty of options for not very much dinero ££ I've only ever took long trousers for a bit of extra warmth when knocking around a bothy on a cold night, or on long (several days/weeks) trips to look a bit m...

The dog has spoken

He was told that (unscientifically) the SSS oil version is the one that works, & that they've even had orders off the MOD for it, who said that they even use it on their horses..

I think i'll still stick with Smidge tho :-bd

Re: Travel insurance for cycling

Used a couple over the years, last two were DogTag & Sports Cover Direct. Even though i didn't claim on either, even when i should have one year, I'm not convinced about DogTag. It could be worth doing some research on reviews. Sports Cover Direct appeared to be much more proffessional, i was ab...

Re: Multi Day Parking Dumfries & Galloway?

There'll be places to park in Castle Douglas & Newton Stewart. You can easily ride from Newrton Stewart into Kirrogtree..
There's places at the side of the road at the south end of Clattering Shores, on the A712, but i'm not sure if i'd want to leave a vehicle there for more that one night..

Manage to push through the procrastination & drag myself out into a wet-one last night.
Took the lunar instead of the bivi to try & keep some of the rain off. Wasn't the best pitch due to space, but survived!
