Re: Easter ... who's doing what?

I shall be spending it sat indoors writing my dissertation. Enjoy the outdoors everyone, in a week I'll be out on the bike everyday though ;)

Re: New sleeping system needed

I have a Terra Nova Laser. Absolutely love it. As you've said with your last bicycle, it's big enough to sit up in. Two skins, but you can always take the inner out and just use the outer shell if space/weight is that much of a concern. Pretty solid to. I've used it in some stupid winds considering ...

Re: Free ferries to the Scottish islands

I entered when it first appeared, somewhat disappointed that I didn't win. Been planning a trip through the islands for a few months already.

I miss my Meta 5 that was stolen last november. Loved that thing, was a four year project.

Re: Brands?

For me it's Terra Nova and I think this is largely due to the stupid 1g pegs they insisted on supplying tents with. Obviously it would be very easy to simply swap pegs but I was always annoyed that they made such a big deal out of the 'worlds lightest 2 skin tent' but seemingly forgot to add 'that'...

The last time for me was probably over the summer while I was in Scotland. Got treated to pretty incredible views.

when I do it takes sodding ages to get here
If it's any consolation, one of those took 48-hours to arrive and the other took 24 ;)

This mornings delivery. New middle ring and chain for switching to a triple for this summers mile munching (primarily, LeJog).

SS sprocket and chain from VeloSolo.

Re: SS Chain/Chainring/Sprocket Compatibility

The SuperStar ones are only £8 so affordable enough to buy a few different sizes. Wide base too
Got one of those currently, it's elliptical (common issue with them) so the chain repeatedly jumps off on anything remotely rough.

Re: SS Chain/Chainring/Sprocket Compatibility

Excellent, thanks all. I think I'll just pay the extra and get one of the Andel ones then, in the long run I'd like to be able to keep this bike SS permanently, so it'll pay for itself eventually  Went with the 1/8 KMC chain in the end, just to save gaffing around with two parcels. Can be nigh...

SS Chain/Chainring/Sprocket Compatibility

I went SS over the summer, with 32/18 on a On One Inbred 29er. I'd like to change this to 32/20 as I'm finding I am totally ruined at the top of climbs, although I'll probably switch back to 32/18 for the longer days in flatter areas. I saw in one thread that KMC Z610 HX chain for SS. The linked one...

Re: Alpkit Bikepacking Storage

Andy was really happy with the backpack here for his DSLR Would love one of those bags, a bit out of budget though, unfortunately. In the long run I have every intention of buying one. And to answer the original question, I 've been using an Alpkit Possum which great and as good as my Revelate Tang...

Re: First night in a bivvy bag

I've been using a Therm-a-rest Prolite successfully for about 5 years now. Can't fault it as a piece of kit, but it does require assistance during inflation. They all do to get them up to pressure though. It's not quite as comfortable or warm as my Basecamp one, but they both get use in all four sea...

Re: Alpkit Bikepacking Storage

Capacity has been a bit of a concern for me. I'd like to be carrying some kit that most would most likely leave behind, namely: - D-SLR - 2/3 Lenes - Cokin Filter set - And a tripod of some description; currently considering a GorillaPod for back/bike packing duties. With that in mind, the more capa...

I've been into photography for quite a while not, and recently started a section on my website essentially dedicated to photography and bike trips as a result, so I guess you could throw photography and blogging out there.

Alpkit Bikepacking Storage

Hi all, My first post, so go easy on me ;) I was recommended posting about this here from the folks on Singletrack World . Anyhow, I have a few questions on the AlpKit bike packing kit as I'm intending to do some multi-day trips on Dartmoor after my final uni exams in May before leaving Plymouth, as...
