There is a bunkhouse in Hafren forest (about the same distance from the start as the Star) Looks very nice.

I've just found them on FB and see they're expecting us: https://www.facebook.com/hafrenbunkhouse/

May thanks all, I've just messaged a couple of them.

Cheapish Lodgings

Can anybody suggest somewhere for the Friday night that's nearby and not too expensive? The Star is full.

Many thanks

I used to have a pit of thin slim liner gloves that had ceramic partials attached to them. They were amazing as every time your fingers or hands touched another part, they generated heat.

Re: BB200 2017 - No More Speculation

I'm more than used to a certain level of post-ride grumble but pre-ride grumbling is something quite new and makes me wonder whether times / attitudes are changing. At this moment, I'd ask anyone riding this years event to make the most of it. Getting lost is half the fun, and if there is a Russian...

Joined, I think. I assume I won't show up as a user until my spot is on? Yep there are now three people signed up. Come Sat, it will show the route overlaid on the map and as soon as your spot sends information, it will update your position with a dot and your username on the map. It's basically a ...

you should actually be on the path to the right of the road I was kind of hoping the line showed the cycle trail to the side of the road but regardless, it's pretty obvious when you get to it  If that's the Elan Valley trail (Lake side of the main road), the gpx file shows you as being on tha...

Re: Dorset Gravel Dash Fail

I'm not even testing my bike. Just going to throw it in the car with some random bits. Love Cake is indeed worth a visit though. Being new, (450km road so far) it needed testing to make sure bags fit on it, the tyres actually grip off road and the new drive train actually works. It's a bit skinny o...

Dorset Gravel Dash Fail

Well I got out on Saturday to test out the Camino in BB200 spec, but sadly it didn't all go according to plan. About 20 miles in my riding buddy broke a nipple on one of her wheel's, so we had to bail/retunr by road to the car, rather than risk any further damage to her Carbon rim. Still I learnt th...

Re: Hub dynamos, USB chargers and stuff...

Not sure if it matters, but the USB werk has an internal cache battery, (not sure about the E werk) so technically it will be always charging something even if there's no GPS/phone plugged in? The E-werk didn't used to have have a battery, but they do make one designed for it. It was nicad or nimah...

What you riding? I'll look out for you at the start or will you be in the Star on Friday? I'll be on an orange /red Pinnacle with my mate who rides a blue and white Giant. I'll be on an orange Genesis Latitude, fully rigid singlespeed, an ideal choice looking at the route  I'm not at the Star ...

I keep the Revo on all the time with the ewerk. No dramas after all this time even when riding it unloaded. Everything that needs charging gets charged.

I see there is a town nearby at the 75km mark, but not much else. I'm assuming there is tons of water about everywhere I can filter, but what about food?

Any places to mark down on my list of possible stops?

Cheers!! Does anybody here use their valves? If so what are they like, any good? Cheers I use the full set up Duncan. It's actual next level. Wouldn't go back to what I was doing before. Not worth going valves on their own imo - you want the full kit for the full benefit. Doesn't cost that much.

A slick looking video, if the stuff works as well as it does in the video, I could see a roll in my bike bag the car boot and toolbox at home.
