Hi Shaf,

Re: Insonia cures?
I struggled with insomnia for a while, like other people mentioned it was a vicious circle, couldn't sleep and then it was thinking about not sleeping that was keeping me awake. My personal problem was I was doing all the usual stuff ie remove telly out of bedroom, drop caffeine, look at diet and ex...

I got some from Plan etX. I can post em, blue chromo lenses, white frames., clip in presc. insert, but no spare lenses.. £17 posted? an option .it'll get you going... Prescription riding glasses
Being the buffoon I am I've lost my riding glasses, they are the interchangeable lenses and the clip-in prescription insert type. Just wondering if anyone uses similar and could recommend any new ones? Price wise needs to be <£100 which rules out prescription Oakley's or similar. Cheers in advance.

Cheers all, yes I had heard about the dangers of leaving the bung in.
Reckon it'll just stay in the boot of the car for post walk/ride brews.

OT Kelly Kettles
Appreciate they aren't Bikepacking kit but someone in work gave me an old Kelly Kettle as a freebie. I'd never even heard of them before, think it'll come in handy to have in the car after walks or a paddle. Anyone got one or had one? Any tips or hints on usage or cleaning etc. muchly appreciated. Sounds a good idea to me Stu, people who like the traditional event can still have their (type 2/3) fun whereas some of us who struggle with time etc./or are still relative newbies can have a few pointers and options to choose from.

Re: Buying from the states - taxes and fees
Yup, I received the goods last week. It was a hot tent from Pomoly. Just for something a bit different I fancy doing a bit of hot tenting in the winter weather. It'll be for car camping on very basic campsites. Just thinking that I don't want to be put off going on weekend trips if the weather is ab...

Re: Buying from the states - taxes and fees
Cheers all, it was a tent from Pomoly
Hopefully as Stu says because it came from China that may have been a factor.
I guess I'll just be on tender hooks for a few weeks, I found one of those on-line calculators and it reckoned ~£60 which is close to what Whitestone said.

Buying from the states - taxes and fees
Anyone know anything about buying stuff from the states? I bought a tent from a US company via their US website although it got shipped direct from China When it arrived I was expecting to be hit with duty/tax fees but I'm pleased to report nothing was asked for. 😁 How does it work? Cost of tent was...

Re: Viewranger being discontinued.
I use a combination of Komoot and Route Buddy. Komoot is very handy for plotting long routes very quickly, especially on roads (e.g. I planned my APN route in less than 20 mins, 1091km). I use Route Buddy for all my off-road stuff, having amassed a large library of routes over the years. I bought t...

Cheers Stu, I've already boxed it and agreed price with buyer. If I can be arsed I'll cut it down... but given my cba tolerance levels are quite low I doubt very much it will happen, ha!!Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 8:06 pmI'd cut it down. It'll likely make quite a difference to price.I used a std bike box to make it easier.
