Re: Marin Muirwoods - Too heavy for bikepacking?

As others have said there will always be someone with lighter and heavier, its all about getting the miles in to suit what you have no matter how fast or slow.

Re: Forks

I’d like to add x-fusion forks into the mix. I just fitted a set of Slide 29er forks to my Fargo. £200 brand new. 80-120mm adjustable travel. 32mm stanchions. I was very sceptical but am impressed so far. They are working very well. I’ve dropped the travel with no problems. They have the option for...

Re: Bumbag harness

Gave it its first use today for around 40 miles and no issues. A little fraying where the tape has been cut, but nothing a lighter wont sort or some extra material and stitching.

I'm interested, depending on how I do on the jennride, so obviously can't make the 6/7. I can make mid week, but a few days to recouperate after the jennride.

Bumbag harness

From riding with bottles on fairly technical terrain I was reminded that I used to use an hydration system, however in a small rucksack. From riding with Wotsits of this forum, and looking online I have come to the conclusion that riding with a complete rucksack sucks. I have this bumbag already, it...

Re: Todays ride

Road spin down to Grange-over-Sands with Kendal CC on Sat.

Loop up side of Loughrigg, across to Coniston and into Grizedale then Claife. Back up through Skelghyl, (yes in wrong direction) and back along road. Nice ride to re-acquaint myself with the fargo and get things dialled.

Re: Connecting trekking poles for a tarp shelter

Do your poles have a screw the top of the handle? Maybe a double sided screw or threaded bar to connect them.

Around 60 mile road ride in Cheshire, mixing with the kamikaze car drivers. Eventually when I found the coffee tavern cafe I found it was closed, so headed down to the waterside cafe in Bollington, recommended!

Re: Best lighter/fire starter.

Not being a smoking I don’t know much about lighters, so can anybody recommend a good lighter ? I normally use my fire knife but I have to go on a plane soon and I think it wouldn’t be a good idea to take it. Ideally on of these mini flame thrower type lighters would be great and a flame of about t...

South Lakes 2 Day'er

Hi All,
Been plotting a route from Windermere southwards, looking at a 2 day'er, but options as Rail links at the start at Windermere and midway point Grange Over Sands. I could always do it solo but be nice to have some craic, who's interested and when are you free?

Agreed they are pricey, might be a similar offering from other manufacturers, otherwise personally id run a wider than normal regular road bar instead of woodchippers

Im running spyres, whatever you get put some organic pads in, make a real difference to braking. With regards to bars, ive got Cowchippers, inbetween a road drop bar and the woodchipper.
