Re: Suggest a jacket with good discount?

If the main thing is heavy discount, I'd suggest applying Martin Lewis' rule first.
Martin's Black Friday shopping memo

If you were going to buy it anyway and it is half price, you've saved 50%.

If you weren't going to buy it, but do cos it's half price, you've wasted 100%.

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

Thanks for the nice cat pics gang, and sorry to hear about Tigg, Woodsmith. I had a cheery Thursday, with a trip to see Emily Chappell. Met up with Trep and TSK there too. And now hoping for a nice weekend with my folks. We travelled over while the kickyball was on, so had a very peaceful journey. O...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

A nice night out that. 4 years of BAM too. Left the house about 8, nice quiet ride out of town. Headed to one of my favourite haunts, but there were people already there!!! With a campfire going! I sloped off in search of somewhere else, and soon found another flat space underneath some pines. Tarp ...

Re: turbo trainer bike computers

I'd suggest HRM and a free app on your laptop or smart phone. If budget allows, a cadence monitor would be nice too. I think I got the Wahoo app working ok from my phone, along with Bluetooth HRM and cadence sensors from Halfords. The Wahoo app has a subscription model which lets you follow preset w...

They call it a dark ruby mild, 5.7%. I imagine it's what a Belgian Dubbel brewer would come up with if you asked them to brew a mild. Tis yum.

Whisky in titanium hip flasks seems to have an acceptable strength/weight ratio to satisfy TLS criteria
I find a 250ml plastic bottle (Co-Op spring water IIRC) makes for an even better whisky/weight ratio.

I woke with the gentle onset of daybreak, and enjoyed a glorious a...
