Re: The Alternative Winter Event...
Set off at just gone 8 am as was the plan and Shaf very kindly made the nearest one to my house [ and he has been so no excuses ] a mere 22 miles away. At least I knew the way and it was the only point I knew riding was fine, weather was cold but no wind and it was easy going. Thought about clearing...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.
When you go in pubs and cafes what do you all do with your bikes? I dread to think how many thousands of pounds there are on two easily rollable wheels Oh and I sneaked mine in very early this month - see write up [ yet to do] on The alternative Winter Bivvy - short version very sub optimal emergenc...

Thanks for organising and all links worked for me Still going and ambitiously going for all of it but more interested in the Cartmel bit [ as that is new to me] than Langdales which I know if push comes to shove - may even take Ambleside Jenkins crag [ Garburn possibly] to get back * OK for parking ...

Re: chain wax anyone ?

Re: Irwell Divide
The A6 is fine till the bit before the large roundabout for Middlebrook. Never ridden the bits afterwards so no idea. Will ask but my initial guess is you will need to either drop down and do the 55 sustrans path [which does follow a river - same route as railway line and all legal ]or go up and rou...
