Re: Todays ride
On Sunday I had a good old mooch around the Dorothea quarry in Snowdonia. As Reg would agree, it's a fantastic place to explore due to it's vast network of former industrial slate workings. Despite it being a World Heritage Site, there's plenty of bivvy spots off the tracks away from dog walkers. Dr...

Re: Traws - Eryri new North Wales route
Traws Eryri will only become the route it should be (will be) when long promised reforms in Welsh Government access legislation are delivered. But let’s just say that the secret squirrel version of the route has only been seen by half a dozen people 😄 If WG ever actually carry out the access reform...

Re: Traws - Eryri new North Wales route
Looks good for me as I'm only 1 mile from the finish in Conwy. However try not to be 'deceived' from some of the images in the Route Guide, as some photos are not from the route. Again with it being under the banner of CUK, they have to stick to legal ROW. They do say they are working on some issues...

Soz, me again..... I took the bike out for a good walk today! One of them proper hike a bikes when you walk more than ride (big style), however the views more than made up for it. I ticked off the summit of Moel Penamnen (614m) which is 3km NNE of Blaenau Ffestiniog. https://lh3.googleusercontent.co...

Re: Todays ride
I’ve only done that BW the once and it was pretty technical from memory. I suppose with it being so close to Capel it was a prime candidate for making accessible and unlike those steep BWs like Jenkins Crag and Garburn Pass in the Lakes that get washed out really quickly it’s likely to get bedded i...

Re: Todays ride
Made the most of a wet Monday during my time off work by getting out in the elements. A few months ago this would not have happened due to my mojo lost somewhere, however it was great to be out. I parked up at the Llyn Crafnant car park (free) and headed along the fire road on the northern edge of t...

They might have to rename the brand itself in case Salsa dancers or Salsa eaters get offended  That is not going to happen. Re: Todays ride
After passing the Eigiau cottage last week and speaking to the warden, I was kindly handed a spare key for a few weeks. So on Thursday I headed up there. I've stayed there many times now but this was my first 'summer' visit. Up early on Friday to chat with the local farmer who was just starting to g...

Just after lunch today I met up with a mate who was riding the long route with just 10 miles till the finish. He was absolutely buzzing at the experience he had.
