Re: Sleeping bag or quilt with tiny pack size

I can get a 250 cumulus quilt, mat, alpkit hunker XL, buff, t-shirt & boxers, plus hipster down gillet into a 8 litre dry bag.

Its a squeeze, but it all fits :-bd

How about starting wherever you like them drop into BB HQ for a brew and a chat with the illustrious org? This was what I was thinking too. It was nice the year we had a “destination” of the seaside. Re: Gatherings?

I don't (naively?) see big problems away from your place - we'd be spread across mid Wales, and would be self-'policing'. The "event" isnt really an issue Reg. Its more the "gathering" at the start/end There are several houses to pass before you get to BB Towers, and it will be ...

Re: Gatherings?

I see the Grinduro is still scheduled for early Oct (same weekend as the BB200) and that's a pretty high profile event starting from the centre of Mach with camping, party etc, yet there aeems to be no official word or hint that restrictions on gatherings are likely to be eased anytime soon ... con...

The weather we had late September was spot on. It could have been luck, but the heat of the midday sun was just about bearable for an hour or so, and the nighttime temps didn’t drop too low.

Re: GCN does bikepacking

I’m sure the argument is that those groups already exist for Teenage boys. Do they? Would that not be seen as discrimination? Not specifically, but when you look at the majority of “outdoor” type groups, say cycling, climbing, etc. then they are all male dominated. So they act as the male equivalen...

Re: GCN does bikepacking

Is positive discrimination not something of a grey area? As an example, the Adventure Syndicate target teenage girls and exclude boys (and yes, I appreciate the reasons for this). However, do teenage boys not suffer such things as low self esteem, lack of confidence etc? Does positive discriminatio...

Thats the conclusion we're getting to.
Hiring a one way van is a lot less hassle, and roughly the same price as going on the train.
