Does it have to be new Dave?? 2 most comfy frames I've ever owned are the Boardman Pro and Cannondales f800. Amazingly supple for in them days my chronic back pain... I get why he also loves his sus even though it might not seem to much. Might be a little placebo going on to make him feel comfier......

Only thing I'd like say on todays (well, yesterday) ride was that on a piece of nice singletrack, some nice chap had cleaned up his (dogs, I assume) poo and kindly hung it on a nearby tree. Twas a light blue bag and I assume he'd left for the landowner to clear up... Other than that little disturbin...

Suggest some bungee/shock cord

Trying to refurb a lovely rucksack I got given. Have used the bungee tie cord thingy enough that its finally giving up and hadn't been used for a good while before me.. Need it to be the best that money can buy ( :???: hopefully that won't mean its too expensive) so the cord lasts as long as the bag...
