Re: Sierra Nevada Spain anyone been?
Was going to do a version of the Altravesur starting from Malaga but not sure I can be arsed with the faff of the train journeys needed. Guessing you didn't fancy doing the Spanish Divide from the 7th to 16th of April, I invited you in December but no response. There's 8 of us this year. Logistics ...

Re: Putting ‘mountains’ into mountain biking
I remember the eastern descent to be really, really good. *Shrugs*. Yeah, it's tremendous. There were a couple of better descents on the trip which didn't need quite the same exertion to reach though - the eastern drop off the Meidpass might have been my favourite. The bottom of that is wonderful h...

Re: End of an era - perhaps.
Sh!t news Stu. Following on from what was said about bats - as someone who's seen construction projects massively changed and indefinitely delayed due to flora and fauna I'd say an ecologist would be the first person to get on board. If they can demonstrate the presence of any protected species then...

Re: Putting ‘mountains’ into mountain biking
Did the Haute Route (Chamonix to Zermatt) last Sept. Didn't summit any mountains but some of the passes are pretty high and are an absolute battle to get up to. This is Col de Riedmatten at 2919m, the peaks either side are "only" about another 200m up but you'd do well to get up and back d...

Re: Irwell Divide
I'm trying to find a legal off the "main roads of death" route from Horwich to Farnworth or Walkden to get on route 55 into Salford. Ideally it would follow the A6 as that's the watershed but I don't expect that to be nice. There seems to be something highlighted elsewhere near middlebroo...

Re: How to.... Take your bike on a plane
Where are you thinking of going Bill? I've never had any bother. Usually use a cardboard box as it's easier in many ways - you can fold it up and put it in a left luggage locker at the airport then ride straight off. Or if you're flying into and out of different airports you can bin the box then get...

I've settled on Chronicle front/XR2 rear for anything other than bone-dry gravel and tarmac. which would then be XR2 on both ends.
Guess I'm going to need something to replace the Chronicle longer-term. ☹

Re: 2023 - Plans, rides and things to look forward to
Lost the cycling mojo a bit over recent months so a few things to target will be good: Probably only one big trip this year - hoping to do Sea to Peak in France. https://erminig.cc/epreuves/la-sea-to-peak/ Had a mech in BB300 last year so hope for better luck in that this year Hopefully a bunch of o...

Not a bad return A big overseas ride solo, maybe one of the Spanish routes. ✅✅ Managed 2 of these - Italy Divide in April and Haute Route in Sept A big overseas ride with other people would be nice too. ✅ Veneto Trail with Wotsits and rufus All the domestic stuff usually just seems to fall into plac...

I like the garment in the OP. I don't see a problem with the description either tbf  Definitely the sort of thing I'd see the youngsters in leafy south Manchester wearing. Full disclosure: I own a romper suit of sorts, although it hasn't been worn for a few years and I think the crotch area may...
