Tried Nano's, Stu? Fast rolling for sure...running tubeless ok on my 29er. Not sure if it's the tyres themselves or the Mustang rims that make 'em tricky to seat the bead.

Last nights ride...60kms in awful conditions...sideways rain...numerous paved dips posing as lakes...howling winds. Wet through after the first hour 'n a half.

+1 on the Batpack6. Drink holders comfortably carry 2 bottles of Leffe (as evidenced on the Winter bivvy). Good for bulky items that don't fit in my fuel tank or feed bag or items that I don't want to have to faff with the saddle bag to get at.

It must be a week for customs-related issues...my bike is stuck @ Stansted in customs for the past 18 hours...so much for FedEx being speedy and reliable.

One less wheel and brake...in theory, it should weigh less. Still not sure I'd feel comfortable off road with one.
As to someone doing the TD on one...I'd pay good money to see them descend Lava Mountain/Galton/Stemple, etc. kicked back in the chair and holding on for dear life.

Re: Tramping it on a recumbent
My missus rides a Greenspeed GTS...and whilst it is indeed incredibly comfortable and fast on flat/downhill paved roads, I wouldn't like to try it on singletrack or have to lift it over multiple gates/fences - it weighs a ton without luggage. It's incredibly slow up hill...crawling is quicker. Can't...

Last night, I took a test ride to make sure my right leg will hold out this weekend (still aggrevated from the Dawn till Dusk ride). 66Kms to visit some folks between Brown Clee and Wenlock Edge...rain on the return leg got progressively heavier the closer I got to Shrewsbury. Nice tailwind though. ...

Well...I quite enjoyed the last little round of giveaway...time for another. I've got a Zéfal map holder here that could do with some love and a new home. I got it to hold cue sheets, but ended up never using it, so it's brand-spankin' new. Mounts like in the picture here - http://www.londoncyclist....

Two-fiddy Stirling (going on todays exchange rate) before the tax b'stards getcha (and that's a hit 'n miss affair) ain't too bad given the materials used and the quality of the build. It's about on par with the Enlightened Revelation Elite pricewise and less than half the weight of the UKH summer q...

If you don't mind a little wait (custom made) I keep recommending these - http://zpacks.com/quilts/sleepingbag.shtml. Large variety of sizes. Comes in green, green or green. I use the -1C/397gram medium/regular width version and it does what it says on the tin.

Re: Stuck in the mud
It doesn't matter what size tyres you run. If your wheels get to the point where the bike doesn't roll, and there will be times if you're in thick enough mud that this can occur irrespective of tyre size/width/clearance, resort to the following: a sturdy stick, patience and a good sense of humour. P...

Fla. isn't all sunshine and fun. Consider there will be times when it's >90% humidity coupled with > 30C; there could also be times of gale-force winds and/or hurricanes. Occasionally, they get all of that at once. Hydration in the hot weather will also be interesting. There's better places in the U...

I hadn't found the pubs on route yet...but I'm up for a decent feed if you know of any that do food into the evening...and a pint, of course! A few more dots to join and some HAB to be erased and I should have some semblance of a route running.
