Shimano shoe sizing.. help!

Can anyone help please... I'm eyeing up some shimano spd shoes on chain reaction and they give a size chart where a euro 45 is equivalent to a UK size 9.5. I've got some Inov8 shoes that fit me like a glove and are size 45 but they show UK equivalent is a 10.5. Am I missing something.... a whole sho...

Re: GPS device shopping - some many questions...

Garmin dakota 20 is £112 on Amazon just now. I bought one a couple of weeks ago when it was £116!
Also got the ioffer 50k maps for about £20... so far so good.

Reading the above i think I need to get screen protectors!

No worries Stuart... I'm kinda inbetween sizes so find it hard getting gear that's a good fit. Troos in particular have always been a problem.

Montbell sizing

Anyone know what montbell 'pant' sizing is like? Accordingly to their charts I'd be a large but I'm wondering if they are perhaps the generous side with their sizes? Ordering from US so want to get it right!
Thanks

Re: Some things that I learned at the weekend

Not sure if it's relavant for the whole of the UK, but here in Scotland if I can I'd always steer clear of clumps of ferns like that as you usually find they're home to a lot of ticks.

Finding a decent pitch can be difficult especially if you've had a long day in the saddle and are knackered.

Been through my kit and got a few surplus bits and bobs...prices includes (cheapest) postage within UK. Anyone interested? Luxe mini peak 2 inner tent. The original inner for the original tent, hardly used. These days I just use the outer with a bivy bag or my own larger myog inner. £25 Montane Batp...

Re: has bikepacking killed hiking?

I'm the same as you Haywire. I'd backpacked/hiked for years but was starting to suffer a lot from joint pain on steeper climbs. I then discovered bikepacking and the ability to go much further on off-road tracks... now I love it and don't really miss the hiking. Ideally I'd like to get out more but ...

Re: Inner tent door options

the bulk of the inner walls will be made of a silnylon material with maybe just a section near the top made with noseeum netting for ventilation. The reason for this is I find it really difficult sewing with noseeum (my sewing machine skills are pretty basic). I've found an old tent zip about 2.2m l...

Bivy problem

So I was out over the weekend on top if a big hill and found a nice flat area to camp. Up went the Mini Peak and out came the bivy bag. After just an hour of sitting on the bag I could feel damp coming through the bivy from the ground... then by morning after a pretty steady downpour, a lot of water...
