Sawyer mini filter - not used in a while...

...by a while, I mean maybe 4 years it's been sitting in a box in the cupboard. If I give it a right good backwash, is there any reason I can't continue to use it? It's only ever been used in Scottish rivers, so nothing too dirty/risky.
Thanks!

New rear light time

Looking for any experiences/recommendations... My Moon Cerberus rear light just packed in after a couple of years usage, and after reading some online reviews I suspect it might've been down to rain water getting into the charging port over time. So, I need a new light - preferably USB, not prone to...

Sleeping bag received from Rich, who very kindly sent it to me free of charge. I've made a donation to the Bear instead 👍

Starting weight 1/1/23 = 88.4kg
7/1/23 = 85.8kg
14/1/23 = 85.6kg
20/1/23 = 85.7kg

Re: WTD: Handlebars

I've been thinking, I'm probably never going to get a bargain with these bars due to the odd shape and likely high postage costs. Might just make more sense to get a brand new set I suppose..

Thanks a lot for the offer Lazarus, appreciate you taking the time to respond. :-bd

Noticed these... Rechargeable lithium AA batteries, can be recharged by a power bank perhaps on longer rides?

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

I bought the Advent 10 speed cassette, derailleur and shifter for my Vitus, swapping out the rather clunky Box8 setup. Out the box and on the bike with barely any tinkering, so far done about about 20miles on it and all good... 🤞

No idea how that happened. Apart from a couple of games if footy and two rides, I've continued to eat like it's still Christmas Day. Must be my crappy and very inaccurate scales I guess.

Thanks folks, appreciate the replies.

The existing drivetrain hasn't done many miles at all, maybe just a few hundred. I'll likely keep it as a backup or try and sell it on eBay.

Changing from 8 to 10 speed

Help please! Last year I bought a Vitus Nucleus 29er which came with a 1x8 speed groupset. I'd really like a better/easier gearing range, so have been looking at the discounted Microshift 10x speed stuff on CRC and am wondering if I'd also need to replace the stock front 'narrow wide 32t chainring' ...

Re: Repair to Jack Wolfskin down jacket

I have a cheap Aldi down gilet I use for camping that's got a few duct tape patches but functions just fine. If it's a jacket you like a lot (or cost a lot) then get a professional repair I reckon. I asked on here about a DIY sole repair on my Altberg boots and was persuaded by the knowledgeable fol...
