Re: Going tubeless...

Again, great replies, thank you - stuff for me to think about.

One other thing, how much sealant per tyre, any rules on this? I stuck one x 2oz/57ml bottle in each wheel, will that be enough? Tyres are Panaracer Gravel King SK 45mm.

Re: Going tubeless...

Thanks for the responses, very useful. It seems that everyone does tubeless in a slightly different way... I completely agree that tubeless is a right old faff - saying that, it wasn't quite the nightmare I was expecting it to be. After a string of punctures this year, I finally gave in went down th...

Going tubeless...

Well I've always been a 'late adopter' of bike technology, so only recently took the plunge into tubeless. After the usual frustrations with mounting tyres, it looks like I'm pretty much good to go and just have a couple of things I'd like to ask... Pressure - what do folks run at, I've read you can...

Experiences of rim/tyre combo

Has anyone tried this with success? I've got a 700x50 Panaracer Gravel King tyre, and a mate is giving me a CX front wheel with a 17mm internal diameter. What's the chances of them staying together??? Oh and it's also a thru axel, when I have QR... Anyone use one of those adapter thingies?
Cheers

Re: Lock-down projects

chris n - can I ask if you removed the asbestos roofing yourself, if so how did you get on? I have a similar job for our garage in the spring. I'm also trying to decide if I should insulate or not! thanks Was easy enough once I'd worked out how to remove the fixings to take them off the roof myself...

Anyone used these tyres?

I don't suppose anyone's used these tyres before: Giant Sycamore 700x50? They seem very cheap compared to the more 'niche' brands out there. https://www.avonvalleycyclery.co.uk/987850/products/2018-giant-sycamore-s-60-tpi-wire-w-prc2-anti-puncture-black.aspx?currency=GBP&chosenAttribute=34000017...

Bar end plugs

I'm a Bikeability instructor and fortunately we've been able to start up again in a small number of local schools. A usual problem we have during M checks is missing bar end plugs, so I'm looking to purchase a qty of cheap, plastic plugs that we can just quickly whack in to the handlebars and not wo...

Quick-link tools

Can I ask what folks use for quick link removal when out on a longish trip? Previously I've successfully used a leatherman and some gear cable, but occasionally the link is pretty 'stiff' so this technique doesn't work. Do I need to carry quick-link pliers with me, if so can anyone recommend a good,...
