Re: Completely forgot to say... Canyon (the company) Bikepac
Now I consider myself new to the current plethora of different bike standards and values, so forgive me but are Canyon not just doing what Hetchins did with their curly frames, and what GT did with their funny triangles and designing shapes just for the sake of instant recognition and to engage fan-...

Hmm, the coastal survival school they advertise further down that page is showing a bowl of some pretty juvenile brown crab - I wonder if they realise its actually a criminal offence take under size fish/shellfish from the sea? Maybe worth pointing this out to them. 140mm for browns, these look to ...

^ ^ What Rufus said - unlikely to be used that much or that easily on the intended. Far easier to use maliciously on less resource demanding subjects..... Personally I tend to assume permission would be granted if asked, and to be polite and agreeable if that permission is subsequently refused, and ...

Ach - sorry dude, turns out they're 7.0's, not Attack. 3x9 old but unused and only working with 1:1 shifters.

Re: The autumn of commuting
There are blackberries aplenty in southeastern weald, but it seems they've not had anything like enough water this year. Accross the entire southeast they seem to taste a bit dusty - even when washed. Not quite sweet or juicy as you'd expect. The damsons are great though, as are all the plums I've h...

Re: Ordnance survey app
There may well be, but it's likely the stuff of test cases. Back in the middle days of file-sharing websites like u-torrent and the like, there were cases of people getting sued for having huge amounts of 'other peoples' music on their hard-drives, or for having downloaded huge amounts of music. The...

I'm 6'2" and racing snake shaped with long limbs. I asked for 10cm longer and wider, and was told they'd do 10cm wider but 13cm longer as that's the width of one baffle. Becomes 290g of down rather than 250g, cost was 247€ rather than the standard 195€. Money well spent I reckon though tomorro...

Yay - it turns out it's Friday again! This week I built up my old KHS Montana Pro using XT 2x11 (good prices from Madison on bundles atm if anyone is looking to build up and for hustling their IBD) . I'd forgotten how nicely it rides as a full flesh mtb. It's going to be her bike to see if she likes...

There's a few in fact, no idea how good any of them are mind. BBB do one, Beko also....here's a Cannondale branded one, but it looks pretty much like the Beko offering. https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cannondale-Airspeed-Dual-Shock-Tyre-Pump_83389.htm?sku=274357&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&...

Was the chap in the NE Scotty Von Porkchop of Ultralight Backpacking? By all accounts he makes/made very nice gear. As a result found himself with way too many orders to be able to produce and retain sanity, and ended up closing down as a result. I was one of his last customers with an order that di...

Re: Informal Riding ‘clubs’ Liability
I asked this question of some insurance/legal people in regard to organising dive trips a few years ago, their answers were more or less all about whether any money has been exchanged, either in chartering a boat or accommodation for the group. It seems that any form of group payment muddies the wat...

The dynamo in question is an SP, how do you seal the gap where the wires enter the connector? Some silicone would do it as suggested but it's not really intended to be sealed and so far I've not had any experience that suggests it's needed. Almost 4 years of year-round use on an unsealed connector,...

Re: Gravel/off-road route from Richmond Park to Surrey Hills
I've ridden the Surrey Hills a lot - mainly taking a train down to Ashtead and riding from there, but you could ride from Richmond either by following the Thames to Long Ditton, or heading across and over Wimbledon Common - but from there you're in urban sprawl to Ashtead. The Thames route seems to ...

From what I've read it's a matt finish and not the most durable. For gloss and more durability you need to use 2 coats of their lacquer, which itself is not that durable. But as said - prep is almost everything, the rest is how good you are with a spray can. I think it's main market is fixie hipsters.

Unless you are a very very patient person I'd not order from Bespoke Ultralight at the moment. I had a quilt ordered from him middle of March and was told 'about 4 weeks'. Still not ready after the WRT at the start of May, and less and less communication from him as "typing makes my RSI flare u...

Small plasters, 5x8cm mepore, steristrips, sterile wipes, super-glue, safety pins (mainly for digging out splinters).

Nice descending style there. The upward bend in the bar is indeed to give thigh clearance, and you can just make out a rim brake of some sort in front of the fork, and his right hand most certainly pulling on a very modern looking brake lever. Never ridden a full-size one, always wanted to. Had some...

This is from the Thomson website A very light coat of grease is okay. Do not use anti-seize, as it can lead to slipping. To prevent sticking the post in the frame, remove, clean, and re-install it every 90 days. Do not use grease in a carbon fiber frame. I'm guessing they're saying that in regards ...
