EasyJet flights are £45 (+ £45 for the bike) at the moment. Get out there.
Turkey next for me. I did a month of riding there in Nov/Dec. Amazing.

Re: Morocco 2023
I knew I had forgotten something, when I got home I noticed that I had forgotten to switch on the auto feeder. Morocco 2023 trip report
Just got back from a month of riding in Morocco. I went as light as possible so I could carry lots of food and water. No backpack. The setup below is only missing food pouches and water bottles. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52769716016_6f37b3305e_c.jpg 20230325_095250 by Hola Siesta , on Flic...

Re: How to insert pictures
Seems like Firefox doesn't like Flikr.
I can get the correct box if I don't use Firefox.

Re: How to insert pictures
Android / Flickr.
I used to click on the curved arrow on flikr, adjust the size then copy the link to here.
Now when I click on the curved arrow on flikr, I get a list of my apps (android). Any tips on getting to the flikr size/link box? Thanks.

I only glimpsed through it (it's a long read) but -
It may be worth stating the brand names as they seem to be very high quality/expensive. Truma, Sterling, Eberspacher etc

Re: Morocco March 2023
I won't be following a route. Just going to do a lot of detours into the desert and trying to find some old abandoned Kasbahs/forts. (See my last trip). A lot of remote exploring rather than a big long ride. I was also hoping to ride up the Algerian border and ferry across to Spain (from Melilla). B...

I'm heading out in 2 weeks. Marrakech as well. It will be my 3rd trip to Morocco by bike. This was my last trip there - https://bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13713&hilit=Rasta+in+morocco If you fancy meeting up by a sand dune for a cuppa and a natter about couscous o...

Morocco March 2023
I'm heading to southern Morocco in a couple of weeks.
Probably for a month or more. Over the Atlas and riding around the desert.
Just checking to see if anyone else will be out there.

Re: Bank details to a stranger?
Thanks for the replies. I hadn't thought about the possibility of signing for the parcel but denying the contents. Opens up a lot of possibilities for theft. I'll just stick to what is on my cheques and walk away if they ask for more. The reason for not using PayPal for a large amount is because of ...

Bank details to a stranger?
I'm selling something. >£400 They want to transfer the money to my bank. I'm not using PayPal. It is not to a Nigerian Prince. 1. Is it safe to give bank details? 2. When my account shows the money, can it be cancelled, recovered, bounce? 3. Is recorded delivery with the Post Office the best ...

Re: Algae in lakes n lochs
After every swim I now have this subconscious habit to spit and clear my nose for half an hour. Not pretty. Yesterday I had amazing, almost tropical, swim in Loch Awe. The heat! Afterwards I snorkelled around collecting broken bottles, a big problem in Scotland (Glaswegians and pike fishermen - the ...

Algae in lakes n lochs
Last year I did a lot of swimming in Loch Morlich, Cairngorms. In the summer there were signs saying 'WARNING stay out of the water - Algae'. This is a summer thing, hot temperatures. I was still swimming there in December, in the snow, and the signs were still up. Today I swam in another loch and i...

Re: Scottish berries
Thanks for the replies. Good thing I asked as I was confusing cranberries with cowberries. Both are safe but it is not good to confuse berries. I saw some cloudberries last month, when camping next to Loch Avon (no, I still can't pronounce it correctly). Very scattered and not enough to pick. I'll s...

Scottish berries
I'm going out for a few nights in the Cairngorms. Noticed the large amounts of bilberries/blaeberries. So thought I might supplement my snacks. Thought I would just check - Anything nearby and similar that I could mistake them with? Is there a limit on eating them, regarding health? :YMSICK: Advice?...

Re: Way OT - inflatable canoe/kayak
You didn't need a licence when I paddled the length of the (non-tidal) Thames. Or any of the other rivers I have paddled on. That idea has been promoted falsely by the BCU. You do need a permit though. And that can be purchased for each river on the day. It works out a lot cheaper, unless you paddle...

I think some of you are over interpreting.
I have been talking to campsites. They have explained it as -
The overnight stays/holidays/campsites etc is due to using shared accommodation or facilities. Or the cleaning of.......
It has nothing to do with solo, no shared bogs or beds, wild camping.

Just don't camp on Strontian Hill. You won't be able to have any kids afterwards.
