Re: Bargain Alert Thread

I am with SR, as soon as a disc version of a Dyno hub was available I bought one,a deore xt , it has done 10's of thousands of off road miles, been fully submerged in river crossing's , touch wood, still going strong, (I have never serviced it !) As SR also states,it works at very low speeds, critica...

Re: Roadies playing music out loud

There is nothing wrong with playing music at low volume ,we all enjoy it. However, excessive volume is inappropriate except within a club, building or festival imo. it can lift ones spirit during appalling weather or tiredness etc when riding, driving, walking etc. just saying, there's a time and plac...

you Could try to weld a bit of studding to centre of the depression and use the studding as a slide hammer to pull out the depression then cut off the studding and grind weld off, then paint . I have repaired damaged tubes on bull bars in this way . The best way to do it is immediately after welding ...

Oh dear TBD! I can sympathize with you. I have had a few friends whom have had bad experiences with ducatis. Mine however have all been very good. I still have a high mileage 1994 900ss, I admit I use my Guzzi California stone 02 the most, then the Guzzi V11 sport. Ducati only occasionally, cycling t...

Sugar! Forgot to stick to the point! Generally speaking from experience, Take cycle groupsets, Midrange represents good engineering and value,ie. Deore LX/XT or 105/ultegra against XTR OR Dura Ace, At high end ,the returns are diminished, a much higher price, a fractional weight loss, barely percept...

Re shonky engineering. I am biased towards Italian cars and bikes ,and admit it's nearly always the ancillaries that let them down , amazingly, some are German or Japanese parts on Italian bikes. Having a motorcycle dealership upto 2004 ,the big four Japanese manufacturers made some schoolboy enginee...

Hurrah! Except I have never had a dynohub failure.(As much as I enjoy dismantling stuff and repairing them) Even cheap unbranded ones! I have six bikes with dynohubs, my everyday work/shopping hack has an unbranded one used in all weathers from the early 90's. As soon as Shimano made a disc version ...
