Re: 2nd City Divide

I finished in Glasgow and caught a train back to Milton Keynes for £45.

Must book the bike on and spaces are limited.

Thought this might be useful info.

Re: Welsh coast to coast

Regarding logistics, when I rode Ian's coast to coast I parked at Shrewsbury which enables you to get to llandudno and back from Swansea without changing.
It also allows you to bail in the middle if the weather turns to crap like it did when we recced the route

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

You learn something new every day !

It would appear that you only achieve a tile if its a ride not a walk.

Thanks for looking Chew

Edit - Found that under options a "walk" was not enabled hence not showing on the map and completing the tile

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

If we don't subscribe to Strava do we no longer get the veloviewer tiles ?
I looked at yesterdays ride and it hadn't updated my tiles with the new areas visited.

Re: Looking ahead - what are you looking forward to?

I am not holding out any hope of any riding abroad, even if we could fly I have concerns regarding medical insurance. So I have been concentrating on routes in the UK and as soon as the regulations allow I will be having a go at the GBDuro route, not fast but just enjoying being out there on a multi...

1. Riding my bike and seeing wildlife - Badger, Barn Owl, Bird of Prey etc.
2. Bivvying on a clear, dry night with a view of the night sky and no light pollution.
3. Coming home after a long bike trip.

Barcelona to Alicante

My version of the Burrally Route.

Cheap flights in and out, great route, a bit longer than five days.

Re: Alpkit Kloke bivvy bag

Sol Escape do three versions the cheapest one is not breathable, I use the middle version of the three, which if my memory
serves me correct is approx £40.
Also excellent for uprating your sleeping bag for winter use.

Holy Land Trail :-bd It's a great route. Tough but other-worldly in places and the singletracks are so good. Also noted. Did Chicken Legs do the actual race a couple of years ago or have I got some wires corssed? I toured the route in 2017, great riding and super interesting, Jerusalem is particula...

Mine was fooked before I had used it.

I inflated it straight out the box and left it overnight and it had deflated by morning, sent it back for
a replacement and have been really pleased with it.

My Spot was rather unreliable last week up in Scotland, large sections didn't register a signal, slightly concerning
when the reason you carry the thing is if something goes wrong !
