Re: How do you post pictures?
Thanks Chew, getting the hang of this now. Picture is St. Cuthbert's cave in Northumberland, you can just see the bike leaning against the column. The cave is wide but not at all deep, not slept here yet but will do one day as it's a great setting.

http://i1071.photobucket.com/album Don't laugh, taken Oct 2011 on Windy Gyle in the Cheviots, one pannier was completly taken up with a sleeping bag for which I had no stufsac. Re: Show me your kit :-)
Ian, i'm a newb to bikepacking too. Done lots of off road touring but when I came across bikepacking I couldn't believe how little kit you can get away with. Can you tell me what bars you are using in the pictures and how do you find them in use? I am putting together a rigid 69er and am thinking of...

Re: WRT closest railway station?
Never fear, I will get something sorted. I am going to put some feelers out to see if i can interest people in and around Edinburgh in some bikepacking, might even start an informal club. My problem is that I like to ride solo too much.

Re: Experience of rigid 69er conversions anyone?
Hi there, thanks for that. I was about to add something, I said that the bike angles would not change but they would as the greater circumference of the wheel would raise the front end but if I do as you say and fit a 26" fork then this would near enough cancel out. My fork of choice is an On O...

Experience of rigid 69er conversions anyone?
I currently have a 26" hardtail but really want to build a rigid 29er for all round use, the problem is that for the forseable future I won't be able to afford to do so. I could convert my current bike into a rigid 69er for about £220 but would need to sell my suspension fork to pay for it. So ...
