Hi Flaty, you've not said what month this is?

Knee pads and 1st aid kit 10 days too late (the stitches came out today). :) It's funny how this happens, I've coached dozens of people who now wear knee pads 'after the event' ... inc' the bloke who managed to just about remove his entire knee cap at the Dyfi enduro a few years ago  If its ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2014 thread.
Unfortunately I’m still unable to ride but the title is “bivi-a-month” so walking still counts doesn’t it? :? To be honest I was able to pack a lot less kit so it made a nice change, as usual it was cats and dogs but I’d found a lovely spot in a plantation I’d spotted on one of my local rides. Wish ...

Very impressive film Ian
I find it quite inspiring to do one of my own (not for one moment thinking it will be as professional as yours though)

Re: Hydraulics or mechanical discs on a fat bike
for what its worth my Mukluk comes as std with cable brakes not sure if Salsa spec that out of price or due to the conditions they expect it to be ridden in appreciate that doesn't help much oh yes, I remember talking to Jeff Jones a few years ago at SSWC in Scotland and he told me that he ran cable...

Re: Bike security
bit daft but I wrap a cable tie through the rear wheel
Very basic but it'll stop any chav riding off on your bike
ok its not a proper lock but it doesn't need a key, very small and lightweight

that's a relief, this month the calendar is pretty much full with family stuff and it looks like Friday 31st will be my first (and last) chance to get out in Jan.ScotRoutes wrote:For 2013, I counted it as the day I set out - but then I did leave it until 9pm one 31st!!!

yikes, very sorry to hear that.
Like you I run an Anywhere cage with a drybag attached plus a normal waterbottle cage on my Mukluk.
Think I'll be looking at alternative options from now on.

Re: Your 'goals' for the coming year.
Couple for me... 1. Try to improve my fitness so I can enjoy longer rides 2. Have more confidence in what kit to take and leave (I know I still take too much) 3. Learn to ride out of my comfort zone (I do tend to just bivi on routes I know from "normal" rides) 4. Complete the bivi-a-month ...

Re: Welsh Winter Bivvy - The Movie
Cant watch from work but looking forward to watching it tonight. Finally got round to cleaning my bike yesterday, noticed I had a flat tyre. I think it's just as well I was riding my fat bike because I think I might have had to stop and change a tube if I was on my HT. Not what you wanted in those h...

Sorry for loads of daft questions but we normally only "night bivi"
Cheers
