Re: The post man's been ...

I picked up a bumbag form Decathlon that holds 10L plus two water bottles. The plan is for me to wear it on our tandem, with food and drink to hand for Tom to administer.

Re: Race / Summer Sleeping Bag

Cumulus bag just arrived. Wow... light doesn't even come close to describing it. Even in the cardboard box with mesh sack it weighed next to nothing.
Will you be testing it out soon?

Re: Bearstock Routes

Undecided on where we'll ride from. Weather dependent I guess. So from here ~130 miles, or maybe just the road option from Wrexham.

This one is looking like a particularly good deal: http://sleepingbags-cumulus.eu/uk/categ ... d=62&vid=6
Cheers I've ordered one. For just over £100 that seems a steal.

CG loop gpx please.

Hi, could someone mail me a recent track for the inner and outer Cairngorm loops. I can only see a route on self supported.

Ta Rich

Re: Suggestions for a longer Scotland trip?

Hi, look up the Capital Trail which is near Edinburgh.

Loch Lomond ~ West Highland Way. It will be busy with walkers and the riding isn;t that good.

There may be a shooting season, but access is allowed all year round in Scotland.

Beware the Scottish midge though.

Re: Budget Bikes

The bike I did the Highland Trail on cost under £250.

Another year I did a 24 hour solo race on 2 bikes that cost under £200 for the pair.

Re: Which toothpaste for polishing Garmin screens?

I used some sort of white Colgate. Worth noting, the Garmin has a coating, then the plastic underneath. Coating - You'll easily polish the scratches out of the coating and all will be good again. If you have scratched the plastic underneath, then you may get the scratch out, though it'll take an age...

De Zeeuw van Vlaanderen 01/02 Oct

Gunther Desmedt is organising a 2 day event an event which looks to be something a bit different for those of us who love hills. Details are sparse atm but there are 13 landmarks to visit in Zeeland in the Netherlands. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeeland He's on FB https://www.facebook.com/g...

Re: Cautionary Tale - very much off topic.

Grim stuff.

My only advice as a parent is let your kids know asap that paedos are out there on the internet.

I couldn't imagine having the conversations with my parents I've had with my children about the subject.
