I'm not sure I'd trust a repair on a walking pole, but I often use mine to pole vault bogs of doom

Re: Sticky BB

New BB arrived this morning, just managed to fit it in between wok video meetings  The old one was in a bit of a state on the drive side, really cruddy under the dust cap and on the bearing surface, not sure what happened there, maybe I didn't get everything snug after changing my front chainr...

Re: Sticky BB

Silky smooth? No notchyness ? I've certainly had bbs go stiff in the past, they don't usually come completely back to life tho, at least not without some sign of notchyness Want any help figuring out what it is? I'd say as smooth as it's ever been, it's very odd Any pointers in figuring out a repla...

Re: Seat Pack advice please

Wasn't somebody selling a natty little rack in the classifieds recently? Some of the smaller "race" packs might fit, thinking Restrap e5c Do you mean the Restrap rear bag that was linked to eBay? If so I have one and I wouldn’t bither with it, it’s fine for a couple of tubes and a jackets...

Re: Sticky BB

Sorry chaps should've said, I locked the rear mech and popped the chain of the front ring after checking a few other things, I did think it was a jockey wheel at first, so yeah definitely the BB It's really weird, it's normally smooth and pretty much silent, it was fine last time I was out about 10 ...

Sticky BB

Lubing up before a ride this morning my BB wasn't happy about something, I could barely back pedal to lube the chain. I was in two minds whether to abandon the ride but in the end I thought sod it and set off anyway, I was waiting for a spectacular failure but after a few rotations it seemed to sort...

Re: The end of gas stoves: a genuinely new approach to boiling water?

My mates used to build TEG stoves like these 20 years ago, they'd turn up with a big bag of wooden cat litter pellets as they were the best fuel, it always seemed a bit daft to me carrying fuel for a wood stove.

Re: Pile / Pertex and the moon on a stick.

+1 for the Hydrogen, I have the smock version

Pertex outer and Alpha lining, great for regulating on the move but not as toasty as my Special 6 shirt was when static. It's still a beast though and doesn't come out until around November time for me

ME Kinesis would be a less warm option

Re: Broken collarbone

As a kid I was slipstreaming a local shopper bus down a big hill, as he braked for a humpback bridge at the bottom I took the inside line and hit the back of a parked ice cream van. Wrote off my Raleigh Mustang, broke my collarbone and lost a couple of front teeth in the process, worst part was I co...

Have you ever experimented with an adjustable version Stu?

Something like you find on a pair of crutches with the squeezy buttons and a series of holes?
