Re: Aviemore routes?
You could perhaps do part of the Cairgorms loop? Train from Aviemore to Blair Atholl, Blair up to Ruigh nan Clach, then westwards through Glen Feshie (one of the most beautiful places i've been). The bothie in Glen Feshie is amazing, but it'll probably be Stag season so best to check before you set ...

Peak sounds good. Havent ridden anything further south than Hope, so would be good to explore. Easy on Bivi spots, so might either start with you in Matlock, or ride down from Sheffield, depending on who else might me interested.

M6 Borders Bivi Spots
Bit of a long shot, but going up to Scotland and need to be in Oban for lunchtime on Sat.
Dont fancy the 6 hour drive all in one go, so i'm planning on setting off after work on friday and taking my time.
Any suggestions on a place to stop that could be remote but not too far out of my way?

Wildcat Tiger Drybag
Got a tiger on its way.
Just wondering out of everybody who already has one, which models of drybag work the best?
Pack shape/volume/width/etc..

Which Bottom Bracket
Bottom bracket is on its way out, but considering the amount of water it's had to contend wih this 'summer' I'm not surprised.
Recommendations?
Either go down the cheaper route of shimano/superstar or splash out on something like Hope and see if it lasts longer?
Talking standard hollowtech btw

Re: Welsh C2C (or coast to home in my case)
Thanks for the route Ian. Southern Chapter So it was off on my own from here. Its a bit different riding on your own, you're aware thats theres no back up if things go wrong, so everythings done at 80% rather than 95%. Continued on down to the petrol station in Ponterwyd for some breakfast, but kept...

Re: Welsh C2C (or coast to home in my case)
The weather was mostly good, but more of that later... Northern Chapter So me and Brothersmith arrived in Colwyn Bay to be greeted by Stu, Dee & sunshine. After some chatting it was time to set off to the 'start'. These bikes arent going to ride themselves. Up to the north of Great Orme for a pi...

Re: EDMBR....?
Looks like the GR7/E4 route goes in the same kinda direction as the divide, which may make a good starting point.

Re: EDMBR....?
2. are people interested in the idea of possibly attempting a route like this? If you build it people will come :D Its going to take ages to map out, but like Taylor says i'm sure people will be interested in do it in stages. I'm sure it took ages for the Tour Divide to build up to what it is now.

Bars
Thinking of trying some different bars. The ones i have are fairly straight and after lots of crusing around either my fingers or wrists can ache. Looking for some wide riser bars (still want control on the downs), but looking for something a bit more sweepy. Looked at Mary bars but not sure how the...

Works very well for me. Packs down very small and is light. Combined with a down jacket and a liner it also worked for me in Jans Mach n Back.s8tannorm wrote:AlpKit PD 400
