Re: Dales Divide.

https://i.ibb.co/y45W9Fg/DSCN1623.jpg https://i.ibb.co/qDNk3zS/DSCN1626.jpg Managed to catch up with Stu at about 7pm tonight. He was at Askrigg, just about to eat at the pub. Then as I left he was off in the dark up Cam Road to try and finish at Arnside around 2am. Been struggling with the wind a ...

Re: Dales Divide.

I did get out during the last 24hrs and ride home to Cam Head, then follow the Dales Divide to Arnside, then in the dark Arnside to Gressingham. Then went off course to Wray to eat at 9pm and spent the night there. This morning carried on the Dales Divide to Highbark House https://www.strava.com/act...

Re: Dales Divide.

The weather here is pretty good at the moment, but the ground is really, really wet from flooding we all had a week or two ago. I'm hoping the weather keeps dry now for a few weeks! I'm off out mid today to ride the Cam Head to Arnside then Arnside to CP1 sections. Should be about 170k. My logger sh...

Re: Dales Divide.

Looks like Stu stopped last night before 9pm and stayed at a pub. He was off again at 615 this morning. Hope he got some breakfast! Should be loads of re-fuel in Driffield.

Re: Dales Divide.

I think it's a game of three halves, or maybe that shoudl be five halves! The fist section through the Dales is hard, some good climbs and virtually no road. If you look at the profile, in about an hour or hour and a half, Stu should be on the Vale of York bits and flying on level roads/tracks. I ro...

Re: Dales Divide.

For those watching, Stu Taylor set off yesterday, (I think around 2pm) on his ITT. Follow him and encourage him at http://www.trackleaders.com

Yorkshire Dales 200

25th and 26th Aug is the Yorkshire Dales 200. Not really a race but just a chance to see what you can do in some of the best riding in the UK. http://riderscyclecentre.com/yorkshiredales-200-thats-200kms/ The event is always a small one, with a real friendly bunch, and especially Stuart (genuinely t...

Re: Ford Fiesta entries now open.

Give me a clue what happens here. Can we do it as a pair? My understanding is that we ride about for 2 days, from grid ref to grid ref, getting wet and cold, then sleep under a rock, then do some more on Sunday. All in have a good time? Bump into other similarly cold & wet people, have a laugh a...

Who did I see tonight?

Coming up our track (between Wharfe/Austwick/Feizor in the Yorkshire Dales), on his own, all kitted up with bikepacking gear at about 8pm (just before sunset). said he was going to Kirkby Stephen. I didn't have the heart to say it was 5 hours riding to get there. he did look to be having a good time...

Re: Route tips and links thread, general / by area

Hi JamesO and other friends, pasted below some of the favs I have saved for one and another reason over the past few months. Most of them I saved in no particular order, just maybe some blokes old trip that links through to a trip he did many years before with a photo that shows the state of the tra...
