I 'groundproofed' the gpx track on my OS mapping thingy by tweaking it onto the line on aerial photos. It was a good way of doing route homework. I fully expect this line to be way of the actual line due to inaccuracies of the OS aerial photos....hey ho..

Yup. I use bikepacking kit as I'm still looking for fun road or track descents which panniers detract from a bit. But always nice to do easy riding, stop lots, use digs or campsites instead of a ditch, and drink lots of nice beer.

I'd give the top loop of the HT a miss as the riding isn't that great in places. Scenery is though but best done in a dry spring. Deeside Trail for ace riding or Cairngorms outer loop for easier riding and good scenery. Much better chance of good weather in the 'gorms than the north west

Whoops - 4 1/2 hrs of course...... :lol: Also note I was stopped for 6 hrs in bivvy which roughly adds up to 31 1/2 hrs or thereby It does show how much faster than me you were riding :-bd I finished an hour ahead of you but you had a 6 hour bivi, without that you'd have been round in 25 1/2 hours....
