Meant to say, I'm very pleased running the bigger tyres on it. It makes me smile!

Re: genesis fortitude adv fork clearance

On the front there is ~8mm each side, on the rear 10mm.

I get the 2.4 tyre on the 35mm run at 58mm and the 2.8 at 73mm

Re: genesis fortitude adv fork clearance

I have a Fortitude Adventure, rebuilt the wheels with 35mm rims and run a conti X king 2.4 at the back and a Panaracer 3.0 fat be nimble at the front (which is actually a 2.8). I can measure clearances tonight if it's useful.

Re: Dynamo hubs - not SP/exposure

We have the Shimano XT non-disk dynamo on our tandem when we go touring - probably only has ~2,000km on it but it seems to work. Strangely it does have a noticeable vibration at a certain speed when our buffer battery takes current from the hub, but I doubt I'd notice this offroad.

Exposure Revo for sale

DSC_0124.JPG I took advantage of Winstanley selling off the (rim brake) hub & light packages cheap because I wanted a hub for my audax bike. I already have dynamo lights sorted so have this for sale. It's a brand new Revo light and will come in the case pictured with the mount, cable and connec...

For Sale: SP PD-8 Disc dynamo 29er wheel

I have a silver SP PD-8 dynamo with about 7-8000km on it built into a wheel with DT double butted silver spokes and a Mavic A317 rim (including 160mm rotor). Worked well with my cyclocross bike for commuting to work but the rim is a bit skinny for a tyre over 2.0" now I'm cycling on a mountain ...

Re: £1,000 Cycle2Work Voucher - Which 29er

R.e. tax saving with Cyclescheme if you were to take ownership of the bike after 12 months you would have to pay 25% of its value (providing it's over £500). However the way Cyclescheme works with my employer is that Cyclescheme take a 7% of total value payment, hold the bike which they allow you to...

The Forumslader http://www.forumslader.de/ If you're interested I can help with info, contact and stuff. I have one of the 'automatic 4 stage' ones and it's brilliant. Use it cycle touring where it powers GPS/charges phones (you'll need to mod a cable to get an iphone to charge from it) and runs li...

Re: Dynamo hub for 29+

The SP dynamo is only £80 at Spa cycles I have one on my commute bike (10 miles each way, 50% on forestry commission roads), it's performing well after a year. I also have an XT (non disc) dynamo on our tandem which has been abused touring (mainly on road), but it also is performing well, but probab...

Bothy on the Royal (Lochnagar ?) estate looks like Gelder Shiel. I spent a new year there and skiing back to the car as the light was fading I surpirsed a couple of the (I presume) royal protection officers who had some seriously big guns that they quickly covered up!

New frame bag from Alpkit, seems very nicely made. Hopefully means I no longer need saddle bag for commuting so my lights should be more visible :-bd

.... in a thin plastic bag... Really? To add to what I wrote above I reckon even a hard case would have been broken by whatever they did to our bike to bend it. Padded bags offer a bit of protection but encourage baggage handlers to throw them around not thinking of the contents where as a CTC bike...
