Re: Forestry operations on rights of way

I believe it’s owned by NRW. Common sense did prevail, they were working 100m away from the track and I cycled along the path that the banksman suggested would keep me away from any operations (after he’d told me I couldn’t as an opening gambit). Thanks for the feedback, will see whether I can find ...

Forestry operations on rights of way

A couple of the local trails I ride are bridleways through land that is currently being logged. Today I encountered forestry operations and was told I could not pass along the bridleway. They posted forestry signs at the point they were doing the work but there were no notices saying that they had a...

Re: Treating Silnylon floors

Thanks for the feedback- sounds like it’s the way to go. It’ll have to wait for a sunny day next year, stinking the house out with white spirit would not make for a happy lockdown

Treating Silnylon floors

I have a SMD Lunar Solo which I like very much apart from the very slippery ground sheet. I have seen this http://jwbasecamp.com/Articles/Silnylon1/index.html#Description It’s basically painting both sides with a 3:1 mix white spirit to silicone sealant. Has anyone had any experience of doing this t...

Welsh Ambulance Ride (thing)

Please excuse the poetic licence above - this was not on the WRT. I've recently managed to wangle Fridays off whilst the kids are in nursery to do me stuff. It had been a tiring week and I decided to have a quick blast around Glyncorrwg trail centre (by myself) before finishing off some DIY tasks at...

Garmin Forerunner 45 - £75 posted

Garmin forerunner 45, with box and charging cable. In photos you can see there is some white paint between screen and bezel which I haven’t been able to get out and haven’t wanted to stick sharp things in there. Always had a screen protector which I took off to take pictures, screen doesn’t have any...

Re: Wahoo Customer Service...

I had really good customer service from them too, replacing a unit when battery life started to be an issue. Felt bad doing the ‘home destroy’ on the unit which is breaking it with a screwdriver.

I have some spare mounts if you want them Shaf

Route feedback and suggestion

I'm planning a trip mid week in mid Wales, one of us will be on a gravel bike so wondering if I could tap into the hive mind to review my planned route, make suggestions for alterations around boulder strewn tracks that will eat skinny tyres for breakfast, routes best avoided on a bike/diversions et...

Tenn Outdoor waterproof shorts Large

Tenn Outdoors waterproof shorts, size Large. Never used since the legs are too tight on me. They were bought for me as a gift which made it impossible to return them through their convoluted returns process so they’ve sat in a box for couple of years. Try talking to waltly frames, when I was thinking about this they implied that they could copy the geometry. There are a lot of good things written about them in the web and I believe they make the Alpkit Ti frames

Re: Garmin Edge 530 External Battery Pack

Cheers Steve For another hobby I have spent some time making external batteries for battery drills. Newer drills have become more and more difficult as the batteries become smart. Currently it’s easiest to get a tired battery and strip the electronics out of it. I’m hoping Garmin haven’t gone down t...

Re: Garmin Edge 530 External Battery Pack

Is anyone able to draw a pin out for the Garmin battery? I’m guessing that there will be +ve and -ve pins and probably a fixed resistance between one of these and the centre pin. Would also need to know what voltage the pack runs at, I’m guessing it’ll be 3.7v rather than 5v that you get from a USB?...

Re: Is There Such a Thing ar a Decent, Lightweight Combination Lock?

I use a lightlock silver for some of my audax rides. It’s 600gr but feel like I can actually leave the bike out of sight and not have worry too much. Accepting the weight was the result of asking similar questions to the ones I think you’re asking
