My quilt has sprung an internal leak.

As per title, the down in my UK Hammocks quilt has migrated between the internal dividers. It hasn’t lost any down, but lots of it has moved internally from the top/shoulder end into the foot box. This will be a problem in the cold months. I can feel that the divider has parted from the top or botto...

Catching a train to Bangor, then cycling across to Anglesey to bivvy with my son, daughter and a grandson. Already done my August BaM so this is a bonus.

Hmpf! I was in that neck of the woods at the same time as you - visited some of the same places, but although we had the same weather, while it was good for you, it was rubbish for me. I was supposed to be sailing but the weather was calm and sunny. In the four weeks I was on the ship, we had just f...

No photos, but a horrible wildlife encounter in our yard. Mrs Frog noticed that the magpies were making a lot of noise by the gate leading to the paddock. When I went to look, I could see that a hawk, or some-such, had caught a magpie and was holding it down on the ground and the other magpies were ...

BaM August. 8/8 for 2021 I was lost for ideas for this months’ BaM, eventually settling for a 1 hour drive to the Clocaenog forest. Parked close to Lyn Brenig and rode around the lake and the Alwen reservoir on what I found (from a sign board) to be the Two Lakes Trail. Shortly after starting I came...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021

Nice to see the fairly rare two-wheel tarp config as well  . I’m still trying to come to terms with “tarping”. Using the wheels is another step in the endeavour. When I’ve used the Holden pitch I’ve found it to be a little low at the foot end. The wheel was an attempt to address this. In the...

A last minute BAM for July. That's 7/7 for this year. Start near Llangollen and trundle along the canal towpath to where the Ellesmere canal begins, then back lanes to Glyndyfrdwy (on the A5), then start climbing. Lots of climbing to the summit of Moel Ferna and down to the old slate quarry of that ...

'S very cheery for me. I'm on the Pelican of London tall ship in Loch Bay on the Isle of Skye. It's the eighteenth birthday of someone on board. We've been to the pub, had some ceilidh dancing on board and partaken of a few slugs of rum. The sky is clear, there's a beautiful sunset and I'm still up ...

Went for a wobble round the woods last night with MuddyPete. Very convivial as we stopped for a drink instead and unfortunately it was. We were given table 42 (strange - there were only about ten tables) which allowed me to continue the philosophical mood.... 42... beer... beer... 42... geddit?.......

Their natural instinct is to reproduce, to swarm. In may/June the beekeeper can manipulate the hive to make them think they have swarmed. This is what I’ve just done with my two hives. I'm going to be away for four weeks, so I won’t be here to keep an eye on them. So to stop 'em swarming, I've spli...

This was my last chance for a June BaM because I'll be busy/working this week be...

You don't have to be in team  or team :-W You can go for a ride without caring how fast or how far, without criticising someone for measuring either. Similarly, you can go out to cover a set distance at a set pace, without making assumptions about other people's hairstyle choices. And you can ...
