Re: From Sea to Mountain - Locations?

Newport and Preseli hills/mountains. Not the highest, but lovely scenery and easily accessible.

Re: HT550 2021

That was superb watching Liam’s dot. An amazing ride, just under 3.5 days on a steel rigid singlespeed, in at times pretty poor conditions. I look forward to next year’s attempt in perfect weather  Just imagine how well he could have done on a proper bike  You know what they say; “gears...

I was pleased to see that there are people older than me entered.

There's hope yet!

Re: Bikes (or rigs if you prefer) of the HT550

I can't believe that anyone would venture out there without a tent or tarp; that's asking for trouble. Didn't stop people in 2019 (eh Karl  ) Dunno how Alan is going to play it - no gear inspections thats for sure.... I can understand going minimal with a good forecast and bothies open. But fo...

No tarps as well on a few of those set ups - Alan is requiring some form of shelter over and above a bivvy bag..... Stove for me. Stove plus meths plus dried food weighs less than none dried food and I'm fretting about food availability..... Plus If I can't make a brew, I get very unhappy  I ...

Re: Moors One Hundred Postponed to 2021

Hi Boners Yes, event is still going ahead subject to the end of lockdown restrictions. All tickets for last year are still valid and there's nothing else to pay. A few of us have been heading down over the last few weeks checking out some new sections for the route. We have a few more doors to knoc...

Looks a great trip, thanks for posting. I've done a lot of these trails but not this full loop. Definitely one to add to my list.

I got myself some of these as a backup to wear over normal gloves in case of apocalyptic weather. Unfortunately I haven't needed to use them yet to comment on effectiveness! https://media.screwfix.com/is/image//ae235?src=ae235/23872_P&$prodImageMedium$ https://www.screwfix.com/p/showa-281-temre...

Re: Gloves for wet and windy weather

As a counter point, I thought 100% Brisker's were sub standard. No padding, so un-comfy on long rides; not particularly windproof; and utterly useless in the wet. YMMV, etc, etc... Totally agree, I am very underwhelmed with the Briskers. They are ok at a very limited temperature range. Generally, I...

I’m planning on camping at Goathland on the Friday night. Last time, I stayed in an airbnb near York, but I think there are more facilities at the camp this time.

Wtd - Brompton bag

Has anyone got a bag and mounting block suitable for a Brompton S type that they want to move on?

I'm occasionally commuting in to the office now and need to carry my laptop.
