Re: Ta from the Tower's.

And Ta from the Team. :-bd :-bd :-bd This was my ninth consecutive WRT and I don't want to imagine a May bank holiday without one. It's a major highlight of my year and my son Michael, who has come with me (as minder) for the last 3, has already asked if I'll be doing the next one. So, Ta! :g...

Not a BaM but a "Todays Ride" because Aprils BaM is a biggie and I want to make a bit more of an effort for that one> In short - afternoon train to Church Stretton, ride (push) up Carding Mill Valley, up over Pole Bank https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52819049925_b36d867c6c.jpg Find a h...

Here's one from last month. 'S not very good, but an unusual one... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52785519011_d2675f5be9.jpg A white pheasant! here is one in the sea (at high tide) but it is reachable off the beach as the tide goes out
I believe areas such as that are quite often and commonly referred to as 'beach'.
There’re a lot of beaches in Wales called “Traeth Beach”

Just come home from a leaving do for someone I’ve worked with for 30 years. It occurred to me, as I sat on the end of a table of 15 people, that I’ve really like working with all of them for many years.

BaM March 2023... I was short of time (again) so another dash-n-crash local Left home after shopping, at about 4:30, heading to a spot near Llangollen that I'd scoped out a couple of years ago. En route, I would take the canal towpath to Llangollen, find something to eat then go the extra six miles ...

In Gales Wine Bar in Llangollen on the way to my March BaM. A pint of Auric from the Salopian Brewery. Just the sort of beer I like -an IPA, light, not too strong at 4%, with a nice citrus flavour. I think I might have another before I decamp to the Dee Pizza shop for a chicken kebab wrap before som...

Re: I seem to be stuck for a wheel

All is well! Eventually. :-bd It took me three goes to get the lacing-up right. Followed the instructions from the Wheel-Pro book but hit snags and didn’t have the knowledge to see where I’d gone wrong so it was easier just to strip and start again. Truing up in the bike frame was easy by comparison...

Re: I seem to be stuck for a wheel

So I now have a new rim and can start swapping over, but, a couple of things have made it a bit harder. a) The new rim is not quite the same. For one, it’s got more of a curve in the cross-section so the ERD is smaller and 2) the spoke holes are slightly staggered. I’m probably over-thinking this an...

Re: I seem to be stuck for a wheel

Thanks for the replies chaps. All I've got to do now is learn how to lace a wheel. This could end badly. It might be easier and safer to look for a complete wheel. Align the new rim on top of the wheel and tape them together. Remove one spoke at a time from the wheel and place it into the appropria...

40mm rim here, 32 hole https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/wtb-kom-tough-i40-tcs-rim/rp-prod175848 Am I missing something here? I seem to be stuck for a wheel

For my recent trip to the Peaks with RIP and Raggedstone, my bike of choice was the Ramin but I found that it’s got cracks in the rear wheel rim - around the spokes. I had to use the fattie instead. The wheel is the WTB Scraper i45 650b+ that came with the bike. I can’t find one. Not even just the r...
