Re: What you done t' your bike today
Fitted new mudguards to my Tempest. Made a pigs ear of it to begin with but managed to fix it. Just need to trim stays and check it over.

Re: The post man's been ...
Posted via the LBS...a set of SKS Bluemels mudguards that have been on order for about 3 months. Finally arrived.
Also picked up a new set of schwalbe tyres to fit to a 2nd hand Islabike I've bought for my daughter. Yet to pick it up but I'll be able to pimp it up before she gets it.

Visions of Dave heading down to his allotment for a quiet morning indulging his new pipe smoking routine, only to be confronted by Reg and a merry band of BAMmers nestled in the potting shed. I’ve filled it full of manure to fend off the BAMers Like that will stop 'em https://lh3.googleusercontent....

Good suggestion, Phil. I keep meaning to sort out a base for mine but never got round to it. That's an easy to sort solution.

I saw that and some of the responses about how you can't have sweet things on a cooked English. Now, I'd argue against that. Ketchup anybody? I wouldn't add pineapple but I am partial to a meaty pizza with added pineapple. I know, put me up against the wall. My main point of posting was to describe ...

Yep, happy with that and happy with how the week has gone. No naughty snacking during the week and only sensible lunches. Even had a couple of beers last night with a couple of snacks. Now that's civilised.

Re: Fat Fighters '24. The year for deflation!
1st weigh-in yesterday proves why I need to pick it up again. Starting now at 77.8kg and the target set a couple of years ago is 72kg still stands. Less snacking, more sensible approach to meal times, stricter approach during the week with treats allowed on a Saturday. I've never stopped running but...

Re: Fat Fighters '24. The year for deflation!
Hi, back again. Haven't weight myself for a while because I don't like bad news. I did mean to do it this morning to post here but plain forgot. I'll do it next week. So, trying again. Most of the Xmas treats and food have gone but not completely. We'll see how it all goes. I might need to see a lit...

Re: What are you reading now?
Just finished Ten Myths About Israel by Ilan Pappe which was highly informative. Am now reading The Punishment of Gaza by Gideon Levy , which is a collection of newspaper articles from the late naughties, which are horrific to read. Both are currently free as ebooks, along with a few others from Ve...

Maybe we can come back to an East meet up in the New Year? Not quite sure how cold I'm willing to camp out in but with a little notice and planning I'd still be up for it.

Re: What you done t' your bike today
Swapped lights, tool bag, stem bag over from hardtail to Tempest. Also fitted temporary mudguards which will end up on the hardtail when I get new ones for the Tempest. Remembered to remove seat post and add a little copper slip before re-fitting. Plan was to fit and then head out for an hour while ...

Boab, That's a shame as it looked a good spot. I'll struggle to fit it in before Xmas. Kids and prep are going to tie me up.

Love the colour of the Ritchey.
Postman turned up with some side entry bottle cages although I made the mistake of getting the same side entry. One to be returned and exchanged. Also, got some new bar tape.

So, it turned up today, nearly a week early. Somehow, I ended up with the bikepacking forks which have the mounts. Yes, the ugly forks! I can't remember choosing those but whatever. Looks fine to me. I did spend a bit of time a while ago considering whether to get fork cages as I wanted a ful...

OT: Anyone have experience buying tickets from Gigsberg?
Failed trying to buy tickets for a gig twice this week even though both time it suggested I had them and just needed to pay within 8mins or so. At the next step I got a tech error and then lost the tickets. Thinking of buying through Gigsberg but obviously have doubts about whether a ticket is genui...

Firestarter - what forks are they?
Build and shipping date for mine is the 5th of Dec. It'll be here in time for Xmas. That give me time to sort out other bits to have here before it arrives.
