1. Is there a power bank that recharges itself very quickly from a mains socket? My smartphone has a fast charge feature, I'm looking for similar in the power bank itself, so it will absorb a decent amount of charge in an hou This is more about the charger than the power bank. The power bank may ha...

Yeah Rich Rothwell confirmed the other day that Alan had DQ'd him, and presumably Mike DeBernardo, who used the bothy too, as he expected. Not sure about Josh Ibbett though - haven't seen anything to suggest that he would be DQ'd for any reason.

Nightcap? Whatever whisky's currently in the cupboard. Damn, beat me to it. Mine's an Ardbeg, Reg, cheers. Or rather Slainte. Guess I should try and contribute something useful while I'm here... I agree with Reg that a good (warm) night's sleep is worth is few extra grams. Exped Downmat 5L here. Th...

Don't know what to say Si, really feel for you with this. Thanks for keeping going with it. Properly gutted it's not going to be next weekend, but it's not the end of the world, I can just imagine how frustrating it must be to have it all planned out and then have it instantly taken away, again.

I'm a two wheeled tramp - though I thought we were all supposed to be... I'm obviously on the wrong forum - so I used whatever is at hand. Sometimes my arm but that can get slightly uncomfy. I always thought this. Then I bought pillow. Now I don't have to worry about whether I'm "hardcore"...

Dunno if it's been mentioned here but Bikes or Death Podcast Patrick has interviewed Liam Glen and it's up and available to listen to on various podcast outlets. It's not a bad listen if you have a spare hour and a bit. It was interesting to hear Liam, but I just couldn't past the grating American ...

I have both the Sawyer Mini and the Trailshot. I prefer the Trailshot for ease of use and speed, and only tend to take the Sawyer now when it's there as a backup as it's about half the weight and packs a bit smaller. I get where you're coming from about time Reg, but come back to me when you've used...

I would head up Teesdale and up to the back side of High Cup Nick, briefly down into the Eden Valley and back up and over Cross Fell and over the Hexhamshire Moors. I say this because I planned something similar earlier this year and still plan to do it as an overnighter from the train at Darlington...

If it's really that useful, you can't expect to be able to sit on that idea forever, but be unwilling to fully commercialise it yourself. You're right Dave but I think when someone is in the business of designing and selling something, having someone else come along and steal (because that's really...

I'd wager that a lot of customers buying these bars are not aware of Jones and where those bars originated I think this is true knowing how many people now believe the loop to be a glorified hanging bracket, with the idea of multiple hand positions not having entered their heads  I know that'...

I've only used it the once, when I needed to stitch two GPX track files and a GPX Waypoint file together. I normally just stick everything into RideWithGPS, but features like that are paid for, which is how I stumbled across it. Let's us know how you get on with it... The "+" button on th...

This looks brilliant! Have been looking for a free replacement for gpxeditor.co.uk which does a lot of the same stuff, but requires a subscription for the useful stuff (multiple tracks, OS maps) now. Cheers

Had a think and a look at the map buy nothing popping out. Plenty of parking by the coast, but a car left for a week might stick out. I don't think you'd have any problem finding a quiet side street on the edge of Alnwick where I'd be happy leaving mine. If you want something more concrete, have you...

Brake/shifter mount confusion

I have Shimano Deore 2x10 shifters and SRAM brakes on my Longitude. The shifters have windows which get in the way of the loop on my bars, so a while ago I bought a pair of identical shifters without clamps. Finally came to swap them on, and realise the window is part of the clamp  I think I n...

Two pairs of gloves from Sport Pursuit, one with fingers, one without. The latter a women's XL - they seem to fit and can't work out how they'd be different so 🤷‍♂️
