Offa's Bike next week

Started this from my doorstep south to north a while ago but was stymied by lockdown. So planning to head off from Prestatyn with Stu's GPS for a leisurely meander home to Bristol. Any particular highlights I shouldn't miss on the way or just off route ? Also I might be getting off the train in Pres...

The parachute ripstop I bought is pretty silky, not crinkly. PM me for a sample if that helps.

Re: my climashield apex 133 quilt

This is filling me with all sorts of inspiration.. I think climashield might be a better place to start than diving into down, so to speak. (sorry not sorry for the puns) What would make good value inner and outer layers? I'm not after anything feather light or waterproof. The choices are bewilderi...

Ex army goretex bootliners. I find that they fit inside normally sized SPD shoes. The best £7.50 I have spent, on my second pair in 10 years, and that is daily commuting too.

FOC : Now taken Challenge Gravel Grinder Wired Tyres 700c x 38

I ran these with Schwalbe gloop in the inner tubes. Worked amazing well as there were a few large thorns in the tyres and evidence of sealing! PM me with address for delivery. Replace the body of a CHOSEN freehub ??

I have also posted this on the CTC website, but know we have a fair few fettlers here.... I have a reasonable set of Planet X wheels that I bought secondhand and have been commuting on for a few years. I think they were AL30 ? and really "owe me nothing" The rear recently started to creak,...

....Good. I'm under the Luton flightpath. Could do with a bit of peace and quiet. The last 3 weeks have been bliss. No lumps of frozen piss landing in the garden either (*). I can think of any number of industries that'll get my sympathy after this mess is over but cheapo airlines won't be one of t...

Bearbones Bookclub - On the Red Hill

Pleased that this has just come through on a library reservation - another good book by Mike Parker (Map Addict) Just over the hill from BBHQ, many of us have probably cycled past the ox eye daisies outside Rhiw Goch on that 90 degree bend just before Tal-y-Wern. The twitter promo film clip doesn't ...

Re: Anyone out on Sunday testing gear/bike/self to destruction then?

In case anyone is interested... Think I lucked out. Rain had stopped when I headed back to Bristol at 3.00 in the afternoon. A brief squall near Dursley had me sheltering in a deep Holloway to put on my waterproof trousers, otherwise not too bad and dry on the slightly tortuous cycle.travel route ho...
