Re: Garmin eTrex to quarter turn adapter
I really like the Quadlock system, i have Garmin but leave the quadlock mount on bike in case i get lost or want to use Google Maps or Komoot. I haven't used it for full on off-road (living in Norfolk) but have clattered along many a bridleway with phone on bars and bar-bag nudging it. Stays on bike...

Re: Which lightweight "gravel" wheels?
I simply went for Stans Crest on Hope hubs, tried and tested formula, but gives the 40c gravel tyres a really nice wide profile and the hubs i know i can swap between standards and place on mountain bike if needed.

Re: Footpaths
Here in North Norfolk, i often use footpaths and field boundaries to link up the bridleways, as above, just don' be a dick, if the path is muddy, don't chew it up. Don't use it if it has a lot of pedestrians etc. The only place i've ever been told off was right on the coast where all the Londoners a...

Re: Cycling solo in Morocco
I used to run 5 week tours round Morocco for a living (by truck not bike), I think it is a safe place and the people are friendly, they can be inquisitive but are welcoming and by bike is a great place to meet people. The one place i'd avoid is Tangiers, many of the horror stories come from those th...

Re: Holdsworth Mystique
With Planet X i'd just be worried about service if anything goes wrong. Last 3 frames from them have all been defective in one way or another, and they denied i'd ever posted back to them a Reverb seat post for 3 months, even when i gave them the name of the person who signed for it. Then when i mad...

Re: Big flat route ideas?
if you ever fancy heading to Norfolk, i'm more than happy to show you around!
Lots of great quiet roads and lots of flattish trails and bridleways, can easily out together 100 mile days where you'll be lucky to see 10 cars.
(Yes i am aware it is not very exotic!!)

@scattamah. I have literally just bought a new slinky turbo, and have been beasting myself with the Sufferfest 2 hour climbing vid, that and a diet of squats and leg presses, and can see some improvement, plus i tend to ride a singlespeed CX bike most of the time, and have over winter increased the ...

It's hard training for 20000m of climbing when you live in Norfolk... going for a boxers training schedule, train fat, then lose all the wright just before event by riding around in a foil shell-suit arrangement!
Really looking forward to this..

Since playing rugby at 18 i've used contacts, i have Focus Daily disposables, can be brought at tesco for £18 for the month for 30 pairs, and of course you don't have to wear them daily. Re: Torino nice who's doing it this yr
@Pistonbroke, seems to be that the spacing between the rings is further apart than the standard rings, so the inner ring is positioned further back, pain as they are clearly aimed at the "gravel/adventure" market and i wanted the bike to work as a road bike too, so didn't really want large...

Re: Torino nice who's doing it this yr
Well i've run into my first problem, hugely expensive Absolute Black 46/30 front rings don't actually have clearance in frame, building a lovely Reilly Gradient but inner rings fouls the chainstay, Spoke to Absolute Black, they state put in 2mm spacer, but then axle through is too short......bugger!...

I think she is a very driven athlete, her results speak for themselves, i presume with sponsorship now it is full time for her and she must know her body, know when to rest and have the nutrition to support it. In 2016 i did 9500 miles in a year, and that was purely commuting to and from work either...

Second the Nano, went up really easy tubeless, happily hold 15-16mph on road without too much effort and surprisingly good off road, had them on singlespeed CX bike all winter and they have dealt with mud from beet-lorries, potholes and other detritus on road really well, whilst dealing with most th...
