Re: Waterproof glove to try

Dexterity is okay . They’re pretty clunky, it’s just about possible to open a bar , pork pie etc.

It’s useful to have an independent braking finger whilst retaining mitt like warmth.

Re: Waterproof glove to try

I’ve been using something similar to these for properly foul weather. Possibly overkill but as long as it’s raining & you’re output is fairly high they’ve been really good.

Re: ever wish you were strong enough to ride single speed ?

I’ve ridden SS exclusively since around 2014 on my Pugsley and Stooge. Like others I’m sold on the simplicity and general cheapness. I managed a blue badge on the BB200 32 x 19 with a combination of pedalling, walking and freewheeling. Interestingly the flexibility in my dodgy right knee improved no...

Mark at MTB Batteries is super friendly & easy to deal with in my experience. I’ve got two of his lights & batteries. All are really good quality & reliable.

Re: Which filter?

I bought one of these for the BB200. Only used it once, flow rate is excellent
& it’s extremely light at 57g

Re: Front mudguard for a Stooge MK2

Thanks for the info everyone. I found a Fat Hugger in the garage so I’m going to try & reshape it using hot water or an air gun. Agree they’re a bit spendy for a bit of plastic.

Thanks Mike. I’ll get the FRX model as I think it’s the widest they do.

Front mudguard for a Stooge MK2

Can anyone recommend the above
please. I’ve got a a 50mm rim & 3” tyre.

Mudhugger FRX looks good but they say it’ll need modification & seem unsure if it’ll work.

Cheers

Re: Wanted Synthetic insulated trousers

Yeah I really like the look of the Montane’s. I’ve got a pair of the ex army ones, they’re warm but bulky & the fit is enormous.

Bought a pair of these recently, so far so good.

I signed up & got 25% off through the Adidas App.

Re: Fat wheel, Surly Rabbit hole rim

I’ve been using a Rabbit Hole & Chronicle set up tubeless without issue for a number of years.

I’m considering a Bontrager XR4 for the autumn/winter though.

I see Cumulous do a ‘Comforter’. Does anyone have a view on these vs quilts?

Re: Tarp and Bivi curious

I like the look of the Khufu but it’ll likely work out about twice the price of the Gatewood.

Then again there’s this which looks similar and is just a little more money.

Re: Tarp and Bivi curious

I like the look of the Gatewood especially as it’s been confirmed that I’ll fit inside without too many issues.

Combined with a piece of Tyvek & a head net it looks just the job.

Thanks everyone.

Do you think a Gatewood Cape would fit me at 6 1”.

What would you recommend for a bivi with a bug net please?

Tarp and Bivi curious

I've been following the various shelter threads recently but still seem to be going around in circles. I have a Golite SL3 which I like and use from time to time. It's not too heavy relatively speaking except for the pole which weighs about 300g from memory. Appreciate I could get a carbon pole from...
