The decathlon trail running waterproofs are as good as you could expect from much more expensive brands.
Good fit, articulated knees, long zip, light, packable and not too flappy.

Re: All points north cycling/BPing event
Similarly, I can't see where the price comes from. Although not free. The £12ish entry fee for the Bristol-Glasgow-Bristol 1600km Audax was worth every penny. An x-rated event so absolutely no support. Just a (large) brevet card, a mandatory GPS route and a the best pizza I've ever tasted back at th...

Re: What you done t' your bike today
Tyres and chain finally arrived for the Rocky Road. Converted to tubeless and swapped out the shifty SX bits for some old 10s XTR. Different stem and bars to make it fit a bit better, then took it for a 2 hour test ride. Seems nice enough! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51690021086_3a98acace7_z...

With all that waffle and fancy Instagram photos, I guarantee it costs more than I'm willing to pay for a gpx file

https://youtu.be/d-IBlzGG_xA @Johnallen - Not sure whether the YouTube link works but here's a short "tech talk" on the Ti Rocky Road. Could've done with editing but still useful... Nice one! Possibly slightly late since the order is already placed but it looks ideal for what I want. Basi...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
PX doing 25% off their Ti Rocky Road rigid 29er (£1,039), and the GX Titus version (£1,799). Both decent alternatives to the likes of the Bombtrack Beyond +, though not quite as much clearance on the back (good for 2.6 though). Not XD wheelsets either which might limit cassette choices, but still.....

Bugger. Hopefully they're all safe.
Gutted for the whole OMM team but quite thankful I don't need to test my recent tent repairs

The weekends forecast doesn't actually look too bad. Although, I can't imagine the parking field and mid-camp will be in great shape...

Re: Anyone doing the OMM next weekend?
Hi Greg  I started lurking for pearls of wisdom ahead of BB200. There's worse corners of the web! My OMM partner is also my betrothed. Keeping her reasonably warm and well fed is worth 10x the extra weight. Add a drop of Gin and it could almost be a romantic weekend away :X Just a week of weat...

Re: Anyone doing the OMM next weekend?
I'll be there and also down for the Long Score. I've only ran twice since the Saunders in summer, both times in the past week  Running fitness is only important on mountain marathons if you can navigate as fast as you can run. I cant, so focus will be on moving slowly in the right direction and...

Re: BB200 route.
First post here :-H Enjoyable intro to BB world. Shared a few earlier miles/gates and a coffee with Steve (Slarge?) then solo from then onwards. Finished in 14:10 (12:55 moving) rigid stooge 29+ was perfect. Could've done without carrying an extra 10 hours worth of food but better than going hungry....
