Re: Norfolk gravel

I hear you about the wind!
Found some great riding mundford way before - it sounds like that's your patch?
Will give you a shout sometime if I don't bump into you at the old buck ride.

Re: Norfolk gravel

Brandon country park (and to a certain degree thetford forest) has some
lovely single track and wild camp spots.

No end of quiet little lanes, but Wales it ain't!

Where abouts are you?

Re: Norfolk gravel

I'm just going to do the 50mile loop and head for the beer tent! (Have maxed out my babysitting credits already this summer).
Not sure how big it's going to be but the route looks good and there should be plent of nice beers!

Norfolk gravel

This may be a little off topic for this forum....

Our lovely little Norfolk village (old buckenham) is having a mini cycling / beer festival 3rd Sept with a Strade Bianchi style sportive:

Re: Mid / North wales routes

That's me Tony - I'm an Alistair Al not an Alan Al though. Stu my inlaws are in Oswestry. Done lots of riding round Llangollen and Ceriog valley. Loved what I found round day 2 of the trans Cambrian way and was going to head back vaguely that way if this didn't turn up anything but I'm pretty flexib...

Mid / North wales routes

Hello, I'm fairly new to this forum business. Took part in my first WRT this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the best things was the wealth of local knowledge and quality trails it pointed me towards that are easily missed when you head out on your own. I'm up in Wales visiting the in laws an...

Re: Alpamayo Bikepacking Gear

Bought one of their top tube bags a while back - really nicely made bit of kit, very happy with it. I also rode with Paul on the WRT this year - top bloke, really interesting story behind how the kit came about and how it's made. Definitely recommend them - I planning on getting a frame bag off them...

Re: Alpkit Cloud cover pre order

I use mine as an under quit - I just tied a loop in the cord at each end, clipped it to the hammock line and used the cord loc to draw the fabric together and adjust where it sits under you.

Re: Alpkit Cloud cover pre order

I had one from the first run. The best thing I've used it for is a hammock under quilt, for which it seems perfect. Otherwise It's a bit short for me as an regular 'on top' quit on its own (at 6'1") but has been very useful to boost a summer bag. oh - forgot to say the poppers - I've got two wh...

Re: Inbred 29er Owners. Happy with your lot?

Ive got a 29 slot drop inbred built up for bike packing with an exotic carbon fork. Did the WRT on it this year. Not super light or super heavy for that matter. Gets used loads, I'd say they're a bargain for what they cost. Wouldn't get the slot drop out again though, as rear wheel removal usually e...

Re: Thanks mr bearbones!

Massive thanks to Stu and Dee for organising this great weekend (and the amazing cake!). It was my first WRT and I was really blown away how friendly everyone was, plus the novelty of riding up to a remote copse of trees to get your head down and finding a dozen people in there already doing exactly...

Re: Let's have a chat about knee pain.

Long time lurker - first post. Saw the discussion about knee pain and thought I'd chip in. I've had on and off problems for a few years but have had loads of success with this book which I got from the library on a whim. It's quite road oriented, but the exercises for correcting knee tracking have b...
