Re: Planet X discounts
Mike,
That frame looks great, but the chainstay bridge will gather lots of mud. It will be a right pain in thick mud conditions, it is the same design as Boardman used on their cross bikes, a right royal pain and needed cleaning lots whilst riding.
Paul.

Ace Emma well done.
Macinblack - there is parking near me in Flagg that wouldn't be a problem and we don't normally have problems.

Endura Superlite w/proof shorts - lightweight and do the job. MT500 Waterproof shorts slightly heavier, better cut etc.

Re: Peak 200 Group start 9 July
Ian, the crossing over the A628 Woodhead Pass was exactly as the GPX no closures or diversions when I rode through the other week. Tricky navigation as to which track to take just before the road crossing. My advice would be to 'concentrate' between Cut Gate and the main road through the trees.

No proba Paul. Perhaps need confirmation on what is required on Hope Brinks for the future. I am sure as a local you understand what is on the map and what is on the ground. It was all dry at the weekend.
Hope to catch up with you at some stage.

Peak 200 May 2016 Version
I set off on a great evening ride at bang on midnight from just above Chelmorten... 19 hrs 38 mins later I returned to the same spot having ridden around the 'Peak 200' 2016 route version. I used the night to try and keep me on a steady pace early on. Gratton Dale was great and relatively dry, excep...

Re: South Peak Loop
Nice little ride, I did this in March. Did another Peak extravaganza this weekend, need to write it up. I did ride ride down GD at 12.30am Saturday, all was well. I'll post this in the routes section later. I had the ride round the South Peak Loop (anti clockwise) earlier today. Memory Map exaggerat...

Re: Peak 200 ride Sunday
I think you have to know the lines in GD that give least resistance. Having ridden both up and down it recently, once on the South Peak Loop, entering it with a positive mind definitely helps. I saw some photos of Cut Gate from the weekend, it looked a bit squiddgy! How did Steve do? I will have a r...

Hi We use these folk Alf & Teressa Webb, Webbline (tools) [urlhttp://www.webbline.co.uk/store/c9/Wheel_Tools.html][/url] They also run The Bike Inn training school. Cheapish good quality tools, Along with Wheelpro's book, Alf produce a video which is worth purchasing, They have built 1000's of w...

Not mentioned yet... some form of ID should you the person involved and not in a good way. Instead of foil blank...

Pump - Lezyne Alloy Drive which is part of their HV (high volume) range has worked well for 5+ yrs. Lezyne has great backup if required. They fit both presta and schrader valves by just turning the fill pipe around. We have had great success with the cheap, £2.50 plastic pumps from Decathlon inc bot...

Re: Easter?
I'll post this in the routes section later. I had the ride round the South Peak Loop (anti clockwise) earlier today. Memory Map exaggerated the climbing slightly, so 70 miles 2700m ascent just under 9000 ft. Just over 7 hours riding time, the slog up Gratton Dale was not pleasant, it's bad enough go...

Hi, We have been running tubeless for the last 6 years or so on at least 9 sets of wheels. In the Peak, normally only carry one tube and a couple of CO2 cylinders to get us home. If further afield 2 tubes and a pump to back up the CO2. Tyre boot is pretty standard in the repair kit, piece of plastic...

Hi Stuart, I work mainly with youngsters from all walks of life doing lots of outdoor things, we have also had an adult with cerebral palsy and his blind social worker above 4000m in the alps so have a little experience (you would cry watching them wielding crampons and ice axes). We have license, i...

Gari,
Thanks very much for letting me try the bike. Sorry it doesn't fit my needs/wants. Somebody will get one hell of a well set up bike for a good price, I can't believe this hasn't been snapped up.
Paul.

LBS for trying on and buying.
Uvex very similar fit to MET as mentioned above.
Endura have had great feedback - the three main helmets fit differently though, so try all three.
Specialized Align - we have these at work, very cheap and oh so comfortable, worth a look. Similar fit to MET.
