Someone was running these at El an Back, mounted to thier forks. They were very stable.

Re: Hooped bivis?
Personally, i've never seen the point of a hooped bivi.
Seems like you get the worst of both worlds (tent/bivi), without any of the benefits. No room to sit up in and cook, and you're pitching options are going to be limited, with it being tent like

Re: Tarp Tent, how would you have it?
Couple of things from my own experience, you may want to consider, is that your pitching point from the top if the wheel is not above the load points of the bike (wheels & bars) so it can be quite unstable, due to leaverage. Also the wheel wants to spin which doesn't help either.

Re: Bladder in frame bag?
I've tried that setup but not really a fan. Its difficult to tell how much water is left in the bladder. When its on your back i kinda know how full it is, due to how much i've had to tighten up my backpack straps, and the weight reduction. Also, I find it a pain to refill and pack, due to the shape...

Re: Tarp Tent, how would you have it?
Tarp/bivi setups are very versatile, as reguards to pitching options, more connected with the outdoors, but can be a bit miserable in poor weather. Tents give you more protection from the elements, but you only have a single option pitching wise. A Tarp Tent, should bring together the best of both w...

Re: Tyre Pump
Think one pump from a HP pump as 5cm of air at 150psi, whereas HV is 50cm of air at 50psi.
Your HP pump will work, but it'll be a lot more work. (plus you'll hopefully never need that kind of pressure)
See if you can swap it?

Re: terra nova moonlite?? worth the money or not
the hunka but wasn't that impressed with it in the rain? I've had this. Its not the bag its the conditions. Because of the cold rain on the outside of the bag you'll get more condensation within the bag (think car windows on a rainy day). The rain means its harder for the bag to breathe, and the we...

Cyclocross Recomendations
I've been thinking about getting a road bike for a while now, so i can get and get some miles in when the trail conditions are poor. Also i've now got an entry for the Fred Whitton event  So, I've never been conviced once the novelty has warn off i'd get much use out of a road bike. However i...

normal life! I try and see it the other way. Life's about adventures. All the other crap is just stuff that gets in the way. If you have a dream follow it. Think we've all dreamed about the TD at some point. With all of these routes there's a difference between the route itself and the one time a y...

Quite a few people have had them fail, by them cracking at the welds. I think they were withdrawn from sale for a while until the issue was sorted.

Re: bivy bag or sleeping bag only
If its dry you might be ok without the bivi as in the cold you'll only get condensation on the inside of the bivi. Sil tarps ain't that big so if its looking rainy it might be as worth taking the bivi for that bit of extra protection. Depends on your sleeping bag. Damp synthetic uncomfortable night,...

Re: Wild Cat saddle bag thingy
I've had both a Wildcat and the Bikepack.pl ones The thing you find with seatpacks is the more you load them, the more tendancy they have wag like a dogs tail, so bigger isn't always best. I'm sure this will be why Wildcat havent released anything in a large size yet due to this issue. The Tiger is ...
