Re: Todays ride
This 'un would be a BaM, but there'll be another one from the Peaks soon, so here goes. A ride from home. I've bivvied in nettles, in wild garlic (phew!), in violets, in primroses, in bluebells and in wood anemones. Todays' aim was to sleep in snowdrops. The ride was mostly on tarmac or towpath, - n...

Re: Threads per inch
(a) The 120tpi Nate is a much more supple beast than the 60tpi equivalent. I'd not hesitate to pay the extra cost. A good answer. I think I’ll go with that. (b) The 26 x 4" tyres may well be on the same carcase as the Nate and will actually be the same dimensions. This may well be true, but I ...

WRT last May I managed to get a hole in my fatbike tyre that Stans wouldn't fill. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52048661774_d18daa5ae8.jpg It's a Bontrager Hodag 26x3.8 that came with the bike when I bought it (back in 2014). It's stood in the shed unused since May, but now it's time to get a ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.
Neil removed shoes, socks, lifted leggings, and threw said shoe over the watercourse (it worked once over a stream in summer). With too much effort applied, catching my fingers on exit, my first shoe went vertical, thence nose diving to sit like a boat on the fast flowing water. Can I just as...

Hmm that first pic ploughing through the bog shows up my sartorial elegance a little too closely for my liking  . Washing up gloves, sandals, inside out fleece leggings with no shorts or knickers etc. Then again I suppose that's exactly what all the best-dressed bikepackers are wearing these...

Not listening, but watching.

I was there. Some parts gave me moist eyes, especially the kids playing. It was a good time to be a kid - we didn’t know we were poor.

December BaM in progress. In my hammock, hoping for a dry night because I've forgotten my tarp. Oops! Update: BaM 12/12 for 2022. Cheery and warm . The repair man’s been and fixed the central heating boiler that’s been broken since Monday. It hasn’t been desperately cold despite the frosts, because we have a log burner in the sitting room that keeps the house from being too cold. No hot water either. Got through a pile of logs...

Re: A funny little night out...
I suspect it's a cost thing - the Mora is synthetic so it could be that designing/sewing an effective cinch mechanism would cost too much or it might just not be cost effective to do it. Their Cloud Cover down quilt might be a better option, if more expensive, do a search on here - John Climber has...
